This is the perfect flying camera. I use that term because this little device is easy to carry, lightweight and a breeze to use. I bought this for my wife and her hikes. We have a Mavic, which requires a fair amount of gear to carry, use and manage. This little device is incredibly light, compact, easy to use and control and seems very tough. It's like having a cameraman follow you around and take video of you. The batteries charge quickly and last long enough for those epic shots. A great value for the price, far cheaper than most drones. It's very stable and tough, my wife is thrilled with it and the video she's taken has been remarkable!

This is an amazing drone. You can use the programmed functions or use your phone and guide it that way. It is very light and folds into the case perfectly. Easy to use and works amazingly well. Very stable for as light as it is. The pictures are so clear it is as if it is not moving at all. I learned the hard way that it does not work over water. It told me not to do it but I tried it anyway. It ended up getting wet but I sent it in to the Hover people to see if it could be fixed. They said once it is in water they cannot fix it but they amazingly refunded $350 even though it was my fault and I was able to order another one for the same amount. More than fair. Excellent customer service as they kept checking with me to see if there was anything I needed. I couldn't believe they refunded that much money as I paid $500 for it. Excellent product as long as you don't fly it over water. Great customer service. And mostly, it's fun!

The media could not be loaded. I hike alone a few times a week, so I got this lil guy to chronicle some of my adventures (since phone pics don't do the hikes justice). My very first time using the Hover, I realized I'd accidentally left my phone at home - but the great thing about this drone is that you don't need your phone at all to actually fly it. Obviously, if you have your phone with you, you can tweak settings, but operating the drone itself happens independently of any other device. I've flown it a bunch now, and here are my impressions: Positives: - Ease of Use (literally one-button operation) - Size (I carry it in my back pocket) - Predictable (it does what it's supposed to do) - Ease of Setup (incredibly quick and intuitive through the companion app) - Video Quality (Excellent) Negatives: - Short Battery Life (definitely get extra swappable batteries) - Power (can't fly in anything more than a stiff breeze - if the wind is strong enough to move your hair, this thing probably won't be able to fly in it) - No "Return to Home" Feature (if the drone encounters an obstacle or can't overcome the wind, it just lands wherever it is, no matter if that's at the bottom of a cliff or in a tree). Overall, I'm super happy with the Hover Air X1, and I would buy it again. I can't wait to use it on a group hike for some ussies!

I was disappointed to discover that there was no hard case. I specifically chose the option I did for the case. I was less interested in the extra batteries which i purchased assuming that would include the case. I feel that I was mislead. I bought the case separately. The drone is really easy to use and very nice. The app needs some work. A manual can be found online. Much of the printed material is printed so small that it is virtually unreadable. I took off one star for the case. The app is passable. It does work. The drone is too fragile not to have a hard case.

This drone is inexpensive and shoots surprisingly clear and stable video. I love that it’s movements are automated so that you do not need to control the drone while shooting video. It really adds a more professional quality to the video and the angles of the shots are lit. I have recommended this drone to several people; most people who have seen it are impressed by what it can do. I highly recommend it, especially if you are a novice.

The media could not be loaded. This gadget is amazing. I am a techie type person who has had several drones in the past. This is an entirely different device. Typical drones require finicky setup, a controller and skill to operate. This is a one button personal photographer which requires no flying skills, it does it all on it's own. Just press a button and it launches safely and gently from your hand then follows you around. Stick your hand out and it lands on it. And wow is it durable. I have already crashed mine several times (it has no obstacle avoidance) and it has come out unscathed. One time it hit limbs on a tree as it was following me down a hill on my mountain bike. It smashed to the ground and rolled about 20 feet. Check out the video! I picked it up, pressed go and it went on like nothing happened. A must buy!
