I work in Kindergarten and the entire grade level has been using this for 2 years now. It is holding up very well and we have no complaints. Despite how much we have used it, it is still cutting true and sharp. I disagree that it will cut 5 sheets, unless they are very thin weight paper. I typically cut 3 pieces of construction paper at a time with no problems. I love not having to go up to the staff workroom every time to use the industrial size one. This one has met all our needs.

I got this because it was largely wood because I am trying to reduce the amount of plastic I buy. The feet, back panel and paper guide are plastic but otherwise it’s a nice sturdy body of wood. The paper guide itself freely comes out of the track and does not slide along it smoothly so I don’t even use it. I do wish there was a panel that holds your paper down near the cutting edge to keep the paper from shifting as you cut it since I need perfect squares for origami

It arrived in perfect condition and I was mostly concerned how the blade would cut my thick watercolor paper, it cuts great 1 to 2 sheets stacked ( 300 gsm /140 lb. ) but more than that and the paper gets frayed and doesnt cut cleanly, but I expected as much and dont need it to cut more than that at a time. it is very sharp, and high quality and I love that it has a safety latch too. If youre looking for a good guillotine, this is the one.

Bought this for trimming prints I make in my darkroom and it works great. The base is sturdy and doesn’t rock on two feet, the blade is sharp and cuts easily. The claim that’s it’s wood is a bit of a stretch though. It’s made WITH wood but not out of wood. It’s basically a slab of masonite or pressboard so it won’t last as long as wood would but for $30, what do you expect. Anyway, it’s a great addition to my darkroom

Is suppose I expected a wooden product when the title says Wood, however this product is made of MDF. That being said it is sturdy enough. I would recommend this product for the price, however there are a few cons you should be aware of. The plastic hinge is a bit flimsy having a hard time staying extended during use. The blade has a tendency to droop. Certainly not suitable for cutting paper stacks, i would say the maximum density you could cut on this is about 1/8 inch but probably less. The track for the measurement guide is simply bad. Impossible to slide the track to the proper placement and lock it in place like on some other X-Acto models. The guide is difficult to fit into the track and once inserted it is even more difficult to lift out. Probably making it sound worse than it is but the biggest problem is definitely the track and guide, unfortunate because their other product has a decent solution for this that should have been implemented here. Clean cuts if you are only cutting minimal stacks or single sheets of paper. The larger size is its biggest asset.
