(fyi: the oem unit never failed, but the plastic thermostat housing warped requiring replacement of all parts in the offending area) I used the aluminum thermostat housing from SimmonsAutosportz. Tengo un ford explorer 2006 y use termostatos de varias marcas y probe la marca Dorman que decia que funcioba bien pero me duro apenas 2 años, hay una gran diferencia al momento que instale el termostato motorcraft definitivamente vale la pena no pierdas el tiempo cambiando el termostato cada dos años o menos usa una pieza original y olvidate del problema. Works and fits as expected. Easy replacement on my 2005 Explorer XLT 4.0 engine. Need to be “careful” opening the plastic thermostat housing on the engine. Also, had to be careful to “peel/roll” the gasket off the old thermostat so that it could be reused (since a new gasket wasn’t included with the thermostat). Old gasket was reused and no leakage has been observed. ... show more

Temp is good. The year old stant was supposed to be 190 degrees F, but was mismarked and only gave 176 degrees F. This Motorcraft thermostat is exactly correct.
