If you like really hot sauna, like I did, I didn't use the chair, but was sitting on the floor with top of sauna (where the opening for the head is, covered with a towel... that made sauna extra hot inside because there was no more opening for steam to go out - it stayed inside... Also - seems like it's good and cleansing for face to be exposed to steam which is not possible if sitting on chair. I was able to leave it up in my bathroom which is rather large. If your space is limited, it may get in the way or required setup for each use. For the price, it will certainly get the job done and was a good value for the housing unit and steamer. Works great. Easy to put together and simple to use. I use a chair that I already had that was made of similar material that had arm rests and was twice the size and it still fit perfectly. Would definitely recommend it! I spray a small mix of lemon and vinegar water, wipe down interior and use a standing fan to ensure that it dries completely after each use. ... show more

This is my second attempt of purchasing a portable steam room. After learning that the steam pot is the most important component of this entire set up, I now know what to look for. I purchased this unit because the steam pot looks durable and not like the top will eventually crack (which ruins the steam coming inside of the tent). So far it is great. The steam pot on max gets the tent so hot it's like being at a gym in a steam room and the steam has been on and going for a good 10 minutes (hot). You can see the steam in the air. I also used the min setting and it wasn't as hot, but still very steamy. The min setting is great for a second round of steaming after being in the max for about 15 to 20 minutes. I sit in the chair and I'm at the perfect length to have my head still inside of the tent (I am 5'4"). If you are taller or shorter you can just sit inside of the tent (away from where the steam enters) to get the full body, including face, experience. I highly recommend this steam sauna because of its better made steampot. The tent and the set up is very similar to others on the market. It does seem to be a bit taller, but overall the same material and concept. If you LOVE to steam, this is a great set up. I use it to help keep my skin glowing and clear. ... show more

I like, others, don't use the chair but rather cover the floor with a towel, add a very short stool and another towel over that, then sit completely inside with the top covered by yet another towel. Makes for a nice steam bath for the whole body including the face. Pull the towels and launder - makes for easy cleanup. Not too hot for me, yet after a bit I do get in a good sweat. Just watch out for the steam tube on the side so you don't get a flash burn. If you need to vent the thing there are the two hand vents with zippers. I usually fill up halfway with distilled water, turn it to 9, and set the timer to 40 minutes. After 10-15 minutes its steamy and hot and I turn it down to 15-25 minutes and get inside till it turns itself off. So far steam pot works great. The thing to watch out for with these modified rice cooker steam pots is not to run them too hard at any one session. If you really need to use it for two people maybe consider two units and use one tent but swap the steam pots out for the two back to back uses. Sets up in minutes. Even if it lasts only a year it's worth it imo. I use herbs from our garden (sages, rosemary thyme etc) and a few essential oils and much prefer steam to infrared. ... show more

I am an avid Sauna'er. I usually use the steam room and sauna at the local gym, and have always wished I could have my own sauna at home. Considering most home saunas cost several thousand dollars, this was a $100 option to try for my dream. Considering the cost, this product is great. It's not as hot as a real steam room, but it's hot enough to make you sweat, which is the entire idea. I am a 6 foot guy and I sit with my head inside and a cover over the neck hole. On high the 2 liter steam pot generates continuous steam for about 30 minutes. Its not overly roomy, but definitely big enough to sit cross legged and sweat. Easy to set up and use anywhere you have electricity. This won't be the same experience as a full size steam room or sauna, but it will make you sweat. ... show more

Top broke within 15 minutes of first use. Very disappointing. *See image. Other cons: - the chair is too small for ME (5’ 110#)! The head cover I thought was worth the extra money- isn't. My head doesn't fit all the way through. Furthermore, it is made of cardboard that's already crashing in the middle. I wouldn't go for the extra head cover, you'll probably end up not the chair either. If it had worked I would have just gone into the "tent" - and unlike other purchases once I determined it was defective/wanted to return it, there want an option for pick up, they want me to haul it to ups. No. Will be making other arraignments. Pros: really liked the blue satin cover. It was nicer than I expected. If the steamer had worked the "tent" -itself- filled with steam would have been great. Just pull out the chair and block the hole. Also, had no problem assembling it. One star to three... Tentatively. They've responded quickly to my problem and offered to send out some sort of fix. Not sure what yet. I'm just going to return it. There are less expensive vendors selling the identical product without the head cover for much less. And others that don't require assembly/pop up. ... show more

This is a total loss. I mean what can you really expect for the price I guess? First, it is incredibly difficult to connect the framework for this and considering you have to clean it and allow the cover to dry, it is a total pain in the butt to have to keep assembling every time you want to use it. I also did not find that it worked well for getting steam in, even after trying various ways, it barely got steamy!! I am happy this worked for other people but not for me. I would have returned the product if it was not past the date I was able to. ... show more
