I purchases one of these Wyze Window Cameras for a blind spot my security system cameras did not cover. I found the camera of good quality, easy to setup, and with good video quality both day and night. I now have two more. The only issue I have is that sometimes they do not pick up things my security cameras do, and vice versa. I've had Wyze cameras inside my home for years and found them of good quality and value. My older indoor cameras are starting to fade in quality of video, but for the value I will continue to buy Wyze and replace these. I do have the Wyze app and do pay a fee for unlimited cameras but the price is not too much and worth it for my peace of mind. ... show more

This camera is perfect. I have this in a front window of my house and it perfectly captures anyone coming up my driveway or the sidewalk. I like the idea that you can’t mess with it outside and the image is extremely clear. During the night if someone is across the street it’s blurry but the motion detection has been great. It records short clips every time it catches motion which for me is perfectly fine.     • All 5 Cameras Failed the Same Firmware Update — Even the Replacement. Completely Unreliable.

I purchased FIVE Wyze Window Cameras, and while they technically function as basic cameras, every single one of them failed the exact same firmware update. This makes the product unreliable overall, because without successful firmware updates, the camera can’t receive fixes, improvements, or security patches — and eventually becomes unusable. None of the cameras were shipped with current firmware. All five units arrived with outdated versions (1.3.0.12 or 1.3.0.29), and every attempt to update them failed. I tried every troubleshooting step available: multiple factory resets, reinstalling the app, switching Wi‑Fi bands, removing the microSD card, trying a mobile hotspot, and re‑adding the cameras repeatedly. Nothing worked. Wyze Support walked me through the same steps repeatedly and eventually told me to return the cameras and try again with a replacement. The replacement camera (camera #5) also arrived with outdated firmware (1.3.0.12) and failed to update to version 1.3.0.52, even after repeating all known troubleshooting methods. Support then emailed me a manual firmware update file to install via microSD card — and even the manual update failed. At that point, support admitted there was nothing else to try and recommended returning this one as well. On top of the firmware issues, none of the cameras could connect through the mywyze.com/home web portal. The site showed all five cameras as available, but every attempt to view the live feed or footage resulted in connection failures. So even the basic web access feature didn’t work. At this point, it’s clear the firmware update system for the Wyze Window Cam is broken. When five separate units — including a replacement — all ship with outdated firmware, all fail the same update, the manual firmware file fails, and the cameras can’t even connect through Wyze’s own web portal, that’s not user error or a bad batch. That’s a product that simply cannot update its own software or reliably connect, which means it cannot function long‑term. Until Wyze resolves these firmware issues, I cannot recommend this camera to anyone. ... show more

Apr 20, 2026: I bought this Wyze window cam as a more economical alternative to replace a Panasonic Home Hawk window cam that stopped working. Personally, I hate subscriptions but decided to see if the SD card only option would meet my needs. I found it relatively easy to set up, though the pairing process required repeated tries. Also, I had to configure 2.4G on my Wi-Fi since this camera doesn't work with 5G. I'm using it with a Samsung A53 5g and it seems compatible. The camera is very lightweight and seems like it will stay on the window okay. The mounting sticker adheres well to a clean window. The image is pretty clear, though the coverage is not as wide as provided by the old cam. The night view works well with the street lighting. • When pairing, I finally had success when placing the phone an inch away from the cam. • A Wyze app and account registration are required. Allow time and patience for the 2-factor login setup and verification process. • The cam may be used without a subscription if the basic features meet one's needs. • Access to the cam view may be shared with other people, but they would be able to change some settings. I happened to have a new 16gb micro SD card on hand, so I put that in for now to learn how the recording and saving works. (I'll get a larger SD card later.) I set the camera to record 24/7. It took me a while to figure out how to actually select and save the video footage I want: 1. Select the camera in "Devices" or "Favorites". 2. Press the "SD card" button. 3. Scroll back to the preferred date and time. (The motion-detection markers can help narrow a search.) 4. Play the recording making note of the preferred start and stop time. 5. Go to just before the preferred start time and press "Record". 6. Press "Stop" and the video will be saved to your device storage. I think this is a relatively good option for a window cam. The quality seems decent. At the current price, I could set up 4 cams for the price of the one I replaced. If asked by family or friends, I'd say give it a try if they find the specs and terms acceptable. ... show more

I live full time in an RV and I have a small window that faces out that I want to look out but if I leave the curtain up the sun glares right in my face while watching TV and this is the perfect option. This is easy to install. The picture quality is good. It is not obvious looking from the outside, but if you look carefully you can tell that there is a camera on the window. We don't need to peek through the blinds to see what's going on outside, as we did before. I can see it using the app on the phone from anywhere. I wish the SD card video playback had a speed control. Sometimes I want to quickly scan the video for a specific event, but the app can only playback the video at normal speed. The app also lacks a search function that takes a command and utilize AI to conduct the search. For example, it should be able to locate the piece of video if I ask it to "show the part that a motorcycle passed the front of the camera at high speed." For the price, this is a good camera with decent functions. There's just some room for improvement. ... show more

3 stars because on humid days it doesn’t stay stuck to the window. It’s fallen off my placement twice now. When it is in place the image is pretty good but not as good as I would have liked. I have other versions of Wyze cams with better images, but it does the job when it stays stuck. It’s one view so if your looking for a camera to move or pan Che k out their other cameras they’re pretty good.
