Keeping my fingers crossed and hope this solar panel turned out to be 3rd great wyze product Wyze has line of products , app, monitoring I am in particular fan of Doorbell, Vacuum and now solar panel Rest products are good like cam, outdoor cam, sensors but they need troubleshooting of some kind, firmware , battery resinstall nightmares; except 3 of the above those I mentioned What I like about solar panel is it is charging outdoor cam even whenever there is very little sunlight Hope it stays this way, either way I will update this thread if anything changes ... show more

    • Doesn’t power a thing!
It’s great if you want a piece of garbage to just get super hot and not power a thing! This is the worst waste of time and money. Left it in a very sunny spot that got exposure for the appropriate amount of time for 2 days straight without trying to see if it powered the Wyze camera 4. Nothing powered. Didn’t come with any mounting brackets, so I don’t even know how I would have put it up if it even worked. Wyze has been a great camera company but this solar panel didn’t even attempt to work. Huge waste of time and effort. I am returning the panel and the camera I bought solely to run off of this panel. ... show more

Package arrived well enough. That's all the good I have to say. I purchased the item mid July. Didn't get around to installing it until Sept. 5 (20 days past the return window). Has zero voltage output. I even moved it into full direct Florida sun and nothing. I will take it down tomorrow and see if I can determine if it is a cable issue. Otherwise it is garbage. Moral of the story: Make sure the stuff works as soon as you get it!!! I will update if I can get it working. EDIT: As much as I hate to admit it, with all of the jostling around while mounting the components it appears user error was involved. I climbed back up the ladder in the blazing sun and connected the panel output to my smartphone. Sure enough, I was getting a charge rated of 240-300mA which is about 1.5Watts. definitely not the advertised output but it is working. Huh... I checked and reconnected the cord to the camera and the tiny red light started blinking indicating it was charging. Voila. Apparently the connection wasn't complete. It is charging now. It is definitely NOT a fast charger and will likely take a week or two to get up to full charge from around 34%. I will say that tearing or cutting off the original seal for the interface port was a disconcerting. I hope the charging cord makes a good seal as this camera is prone to the effects of weather. Most important: Now I don't have to climb a ladder and take down the camera to charge it!! ... show more

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Does a great job keeping battery charged on the wize camera. Had in service since Christmas 24. No problems at all.
