  • If you’re on a weight loss journey you need this scale!!
Style: Wyze Scale X White - FSA/HSA Eligible
I read a lot of scale reviews online, before I decided to purchase this one. And it has not disappointed! It’s nice to know I finally have an accurate scale I can depend on. And download the corresponding App. The app syncs with your cell and the minute you step on the scale it sends all the info to the app. It doesn’t just give weight, BMI and muscle %. The app also has a heart rate monitor too. So you can see on a graph your weight loss journey. Even has a “pet mode” for weighing your pups! Can’t say enough about this scale. Well worth the money. ... show more

  • Good scale, reasonable cost, should last; but glass-like surface gets dirty easily
Style: Wyze Scale X Black - FSA/HSA Eligible
My plain, simple digital bathroom scale was over 20 years old. It did not have replaceable battery but the one it came with LASTED OVER 20 YEARS of moderate use by one person. When it finally gave out, against the warning on the back, I drool it apart and tried replacing the button battery with a new one (the same battery) but it didn’t bring the scale back to life. So I started searching for a new bathroom scale, which is way more difficult than I thought it would be! The brick-and-mortar stores around me had limited models and after checking their product reviews found all had a number of reviews saying they had quit working after a few months to a year. I even looked at a number of “best bathroom scales 2023” lists from general internet searches. Looking at the most frequently listed models on Amazon, thorough price/value evaluatiion (from reviews) led me to choose the Wyze Scale X, black version. It arrived in perfect condition and after reading the instructions, was easy to set up. I honestly did <not> want internet connectivity from a bathroom scale, but you don’t have to set up or use those functions for it to work correctly. It is sensitive to small changes (testing by weighing with/without clothes on) and though I have no other home bathroom scale to objectively compare values with, it does give me weight values that seem realistic and look correct AFAIK. It also will return a body fat composition score if you weigh in bare feet (as suggested) and stay on the scale after the initial weight is displayed, nbut I don’t care what the score is so I just get off once I get my weight. (I’m not a bodybuilder or health enthusiast to the point where a precise measurement of body fat means anything; who can’t already tell if they consider themself over-fat or not? I can. Lol) Size; large and heavy enough to feel secure when I get in and off. Easy of reading; great, an improvement over my old scale. The only downside I can found is that the glass-like surface shows dust and water spots easily. Maybe it is real glass, I’m not sure, but because the edges are exposed I try to be very careful to not hit it against anything hard when I move or clean it. I have started putting it in a bathroom cabinet , horizontally, when not in use. I think it can be stored vertically, which would save some space, but I suspect that might mess with the balance of the weight measuring components over time, idk. It was low/mid priced vs the competition, but I am too thrifty to consider it a disposable item that I’m willing to replace regularly, so I am trying to take good care of it if the care required is not too time/effort intensive. The battery is easily replaceable. And I am still thinking about how to get the 20 yr old scale operational again, in case this new one does crap out sooner than I’d like. There is one small board in it, connected to a few sensors under the outer deck. I scoured the internet looking for info on how to repair it, but the model is long discontinued and the entire product line has been sold to another mfg who doesn’t list it in their support area. I have engineers at my work that may be willing and able to diagnose and fix something, so that’s my next step when I get around to it. The obvious trend towards cheaper (in $ and in quality) components and finished products serves no one well IMHO and I do like to support good manufacturing when I find it. I hope the Wyze Scale X stands up to the test of time. (BTW, I am a buyer for a small US mechanical device manufacturer, and I understand that the cost of components and the finished goods are very important, but I am proud to say my company values reflect quality over cost and I’m glad they are so far successful despite the “race to the bottom” direction most competitors seem to choose. Go USA manufacturing!) ... show more

  • Accurate and versatile (if you want it to be)
Style: Wyze Scale X White - FSA/HSA Eligible
Very accurate and tracks so much more than your weight if you want it to. Works with the Wyze app that I already had to enable all the bells and whistles. But you can just use it as a simple and very accurate scale.

  • Modern Accuracy
Style: Wyze Scale X White - FSA/HSA Eligible
Easy to connect to the app, seems accurate. Just wish there was a version that wasn’t glass. Always afraid it will break because my last one cracked. It wasn’t this brand, to be clear. It looks nice and unobtrusive in the bathroom, will blend with any decor. Price was reasonable.

  • I’ve never been more disappointed…
Style: Wyze Scale X Black - FSA/HSA Eligible
I hate to say this, but I’ve never been more disappointed in a product I’ve purchased from Wyze. I recently upgraded my home’s security network with Wyze cameras and wanted to find other ways to integrate into the Wyze ecosystem. When I saw they had smart scale options, and especially one with such great ratings, I ordered it right away. Fast forward to receipt of the unit - product was package nicely, setup was a breeze, and best of all, the app is loaded with great features and functions. Unfortunately, this scale is NOT accurate. Consistent, yes, but accurate, no. Read on for more details… First, most of the features these “Smart Scales” offer outside of weight are bogus, or at the very least, have no scientifically validated accuracy. Even so, a ballpark estimate would be nice for someone who works out. To give some context, I’m 5’10”, weigh 210lbs, and measure roughly 9% body fat on a DEXA scan. The instructions say to only use “Athlete Mode” if you’re 4-5% body fat. I’m sorry, but I would bet that less than 0.5% of the people that purchase this scale are TRULY 5% or less body fat. Either way, I tried it with athlete mode on and got a bf% reading of 26.1%. I tried again with athlete mode off and got a body fat of 29.7%. After reading other reviews and troubleshooting online, I tried resetting the scale, recalibrating, etc., and was still getting wonky results. However, due to all of the positive reviews and my desire to migrate more of my life into the Wyze ecosystem, I decided to give Wyze another shot and exchanged the scale for the same model through Amazon. The next day, the new scale arrived. I went through the same steps and got even more exaggerated results! 27.4% body fat with athlete mode on and 30.0% body fat with athlete mode off. I then compared both scales side by side on the same surface, and my weight was 0.6 lbs different on each, with the higher bf scale being 0.6lbs less on the weight measurement. It’s one thing for gimmicky metrics to be off, but it is unacceptable for the exact same scale models to have such a big weight discrepancy. Whether that’s due to bad equipment or poor QC, I’m not sure, but I have officially returned both Wyze scales. The extreme disappointment was ultimately my fault for getting my hopes up. Wyze does mention on their website that the scale weight is accurate to within 0.5%, which is technically true based on my body weight, but I’ve never experienced such a wide gap between 2 of the exact same scales, let alone 2 accurate scales from other brands. In the end, it looks like I’ll be sticking with Etekcity and Renpho for the foreseeable future, though I’m still holding out hope that one day Wyze will make a scale that can draw me back. ... show more
