This scale arrived beautifully packaged with the nicest, most thorough instruction booklet I've received with a product in the last 20 years. Getting started was super simple and took less than 3 minutes. The 28 page bound instruction booklet provides very clear and concise directions for the set up, operation, charging, and cleaning of the scale. It also provides charts for typical body metric results. I cannot stress how impressed I am that the instruction manual is filled with proper English and correct grammar. This is made in China and distributed by a US company, but it does not feel like some garbage import that a US retailer just threw their brand sticker on. The scale is simple to use. You can use it without the app, but the app is so helpful. The app works great for my Samsung and my husband's iPhone. I read tons of reviews for other scales and the apps that they connect to. I decided to go with this scale because of the great reviews and its features, but mainly because of the app that you use with it. While the Weight Gurus app in Google Play had poor reviews, the developer responded to every poor review and provided an easy solution to the issue caused by an update for existing users. In the Apple store the Weight Gurus app had great reviews. I love that the Weight Gurus app doesn't collect too much info beyond my personal metrics, and that nothing is shared. The scale has a 3 year warranty, and Greater Goods has customer service hours in Central Standard Time, as well as social media. Other brand scales connect to apps that had horrible reviews about poor connectivity, inability to sync metrics, only available for older smartphones, and they collected way too much info that they share with third parties. I am loving this purchase and I'm looking forward to using the body metrics detected to aide me in my journey to better health.

Electronic body weight scales, in general, are a major improvement over the old-fashioned, spring controlled scales used since the previous century. Some have other features, e.g. estimate BMI, but this one estimates only body weight. I chose the black model because of its modern appearance. The scale is shipped in a cardboard box, and after opening, the box can be used to store the scale when not in use. If you need to use this scale everyday, then covering it will mitigate the accumulation of dust on its surface. This scale has a bright and easy to read display even when your morning vision is not the sharpest. The supplied batteries did not last long and needed to be replaced after about two months. Replacement is easy. The four AAA batteries are held in a compartment that is accessed underneath the scale. This scale estimates your body weight. These readings are not stored, nor is there a Bluetooth interface to transmit each reading to a smartphone app. These latter features will not be missed by most of us. In fact, I record these readings on a spreadsheet and use it to monitor and evaluate variations in diet, exercise activity, and lifestyle. These records have been useful to me over many years. The scale material is relatively durable, but I would recommend a gentle handling of it to preserve the integrity of the internal electronics, and store it in an area where it is not accidentally “knocked around” or scratched. The surface is easy to clean by gently wiping the surface with a soft cotton or microfiber cloth and a non-ammonia glass cleaner. Accuracy is claimed by the manufacturer to hover within 0.1 pounds. This statement can’t be verified without an independent comparison. Yet, if you have an older scale, then establish your own calibration and baseline values across the scales to maintain a continuous weight-monitoring record. Continuity of weight measurement is important and it can be made simply by comparing the readings of your old and new scales. For example, measure your weight using your old scale, then weigh yourself again using this new unit and keep a record of the difference in readings across several days. When you are confident that a reliable baseline difference has been reached, then donate the old scale and enjoy the new one.

I bought this scale recently to track my weight and it has been a great tool. It is no frills but excellent. I have tested the scale, by repeatedly weighing myself in the morning and get the same result each time. Another good feature is that the display stays on for a decent amount of time to remember and or record the reading. And it can be switched to metric very easily with a button in a back. Also the weight range is very good, up to 400 pounds, so all things considering should work for the vast majority of people. The only downside is that it could be a little longer. If you have very large feet ( shoe size 13 and up ) it probably would not work. I am 11.5 and it is a little snug but totally workable. Though the smaller foot print makes it easy to store. which is another reason I purchased it. I have tiny bathroom and need something that be put away after each use. I would highly recommend it.

Best scale I have ever had, and I have had many. The readings are almost identical to my doctors office scale when I weigh before going. Be careful with feet its easy to slip on it. It is vey pretty, light weight and accurate. It works best on a hard floor, not carpet.
