    • Floor Scale with Remote Display
The scale arrived on time with its packaging intact with minor dents. It was shipped with the product box wrapped within another larger box insuring no damage. The contents included the foot scale, connected spiral cord, 9V battery, two drywall anchor screws and two silver base plates. One removes the two very small Phillips screws from the smaller base plate, set them aside and then insert the small plate into the larger plate. Fasten them together with the two small Phillips screws. Install the 9V battery in the back of the display, plug in the spiral cord and slide the display onto the assembled support. Powered it up and made some test measurements. Measurement values are easily and consistently repeatable. I like it a lot. Time will tell if it is also durable. The display bracket can also be installed onto a wall but would require enlarging the two holes in the larger base plate half. ... show more

As many have mentioned the $25-50 digital scales are junk. I started off with one from Wal-Mart and went thru 5 of them to find one that worked only barely, was not accurate and very fussy where it was placed on the floor and where I stood on it. Tried others brands that were no better and read 100s of reviews. At that point I searched on doctor scales and found this one. At 5-10 times the price it is a tough choice to make and I’m glad I did. I have only had it a couple days and if my opinion changes I will edit this review. My initial thoughts are this is a real quality piece of equipment. I’m using the battery and table-mounting holder for the unit at this point as I don’t have a place to leave it out yet. It takes a 9v battery so I suspect it will last a long time. If not I will switch to the included wall transformer. It reads out in .2 pound increments and I tried it a dozen times and it repeated each time. Something none of the cheaper scales would do. There is nothing fancy about it simple square box that sits on the floor and is nicely finished. It is pretty heavy and that is a sign of quality IMO. The 550 pound rating is pretty high and anyone under 450 should have no worries with this model. I’m a big guy at 270 pounds and that may have been some of the problems with cheap scales with a 300-350 limit. I don’t really know. I’m giving this 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. ... show more
