  • Perfect? No, but just simple.
Is it perfect? No, but it is what I was looking for. Battery lasted for about 2 hours on first use and cleaned the pool better than I could imagine. It does have some "quirks" but very pleased with the performance. I'm not sure if the pool I have is "right" for this cleaner, but it did a really good job on the first go-round. I used it on an inground fiberglass pool shown in the pics. There is a ledge, steps, and seats. It tried its best but since these are curves and not flat/right angles, it didn't do great. Now-- on flat surfaces, this thing shines. The waterflow and "cleaning power" are incredible. The filter pump/exhaust from the unit is just amazing. It picks up all the sand in the bottom of my pool...and the clumps of settling pollen with ease. Almost to the point of being too good at picking up debris. I noticed that after about 20 mins of run time that the unit was starting to do "wheelies" and would buck-up or lift off the floor when changing or starting direction. I pulled it out and...wow... this filter will pick up everything to where it will clog the filter with the amount of debris it catches. It is great that is catches all this junk, but if you have a bad pool like I do, then think about cleaning out to filter several times. As you can see from the picture of it in action, it does a great job at cleaning. This pic is of a pool that has been uncovered for a few months and the pollen has settled to the bottom and clumped. Also-- it has rained so much lately that the algae is growing and it is not even warm enough. Ugh. Anyway-- I think that the value of this over pulling out all the hoses and what-not to filter vacuum your pool is worth it. This device ran for two hours on its own (with two filter cleanings due to using it beyond its specs) and I got to enjoy a six pak and watch AI at its finest. To me... it cleaned the pool the same as I would have with a brush and the filter on...the same amount of time and the same results. Two thumbs up. Saves time and a lot less effort. Good job. I am very pleased with my purchase. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Update a week later.... OK. Lots of complaints about charging time. It is a huge pack and "slow" charging it will probably make it last longer. To me... so what if it takes 6 hours to charge. My "gig" is to use it when needed. Plan Ahead !!!! ;-) After three cleanings, it still runs over the rated time (approx 110 mins in my situation). Some "issues"--- I have a Fiberglass pool seen in the pics. It has multiple steps and the sides (between the bottom and the actual side of the pool) are curved. This robot handles everything except for the multiple stairs at the shallow end. It will get "caught" and just run without moving. It kinda gets High Centered with the filter pump pushing it down. I saw it one time and just moved it and it was OK. I guess I was concerned that if I didn't "check up on it" that it would run out of battery before I saw it running doing nothing. So-- is it perfect? No. Just like SkyNet, the robots need human intervention. I think this was a anomaly as it only did this (high centering) on one out of three cleanings. I will keep trying it, but I think this was just a fluke. Keep in mind that I have a nasty pool and it did a wonderful job if you clean the filter. Why do I say that? I tried to drop the unit back in the same place where I removed it. It seems to not remember where it was before I fished it out. Not a big deal, but you have to learn the "AI." I live where there is a lot of sand. This robot will pick up all of the smaller stuff with ease. Now-- that comes with a warning. I had to clean the filter after about 20-30 mins in the pool. The mesh filer is almost "too good" at picking up debris. Just keep an eye on it and think about cleaning the filter at least half-way though cleaning if you have a lot of larger debris. My Catfish will not pick up sand like this. The Catfish filter is "too big." and just passes it. This robot will pick it all up and that is where is shines as well as it'd downfall. Keep the filter clean. The romot works correctly with a clean filter. Can I say again?? Check the Filter for the best results. Now... there is a second pic of my pool where you can see where it is cleaning the algae and crap from the bottom. This is where I was most impressed. If you clean the filter, it will clean it like a hose to the filter. Seriously, I put it through a worst-case test and it passed with flying colors. This is a really nice pool cleaner. So far--- it is a whole lot less effort to put a robot in the pool and clean it vs. having to pull out all the hoses and what-not. To me, it does the same work as the hose filter if you keep an eye on how full the filter is getting. So-- the robot takes two hours to clean. I spend like 10 mins putting it in, cleaning it one or twice, then fetching it when it is done. It is what it is-- it can be really easy to waste a few brewskis just watching it. Maybe it is the entertainment value. I highly recommend this if you can find it at a good value. ... show more

  • DIED IN UNDER 6 MONTHS WASTE OF MONEY
The robot worked for about 4 months. Then it began having issues. Now I can't get it to do more than a single pass across the pool. The charger says it's charged, but it dies after running a few feet in the pool, and then still shows as fully charged when plugged back in. The seller is no help at all and hasn't responded to messages. When it did work, it was still only ok, at best. It would get a single wash a day, and takes forever to charge. It gets stuck on the stairs, the drain, and often hangs out at the water line for an excessive amount of time. Because of its short run time, it doesn't really clean the pool well if you have leaves or any debris in the pool. The basket is hard to clean because everything gets stuck between the basket entryway and the filter element.. I thought about sending it back before the 3 month trial was over but figured it worked well enough to keep as the backup in case our usual robot broke down again. Now its useless and I am out $500+. I see the price has gone down significantly since I bought it. Still not worth the cost. STEER CLEAR. Couldn't even get a half year out of this product. Despite it being a mediocre cleaner, I still would have given it a few more stars had it stayed a working. Unfortunately, now I can't get any use out of it, and the manufacturer has been just as useless as the cleaner is. ... show more

  • Works pretty well
Overall this is a pretty good pool cleaner. It seems to pick up most dirt and debris but not all. My pool goes from 3ft to 8ft. On the deep end, the walls slope as well as the floor. The cleaner cannot get all of the dirt from corners or the cove where the slopes meet. Also, on the shallow end, I have 4ft fiberglass steps into the pool. The cleaner climbs the steps and then is stuck and has to be freed, so I have to watch so it doesn't waste all of it's battery just spinning. That being said, I used to spend 30 to 45 minutes per day vacuuming, and now I manually vacuum the steps and the areas in the deep end that the cleaner misses. This takes me maybe 5 minutes now. Overall I think my pool is cleaner. One other thing is the charge port is not waterproof and has a cap that must be tightened to keep water out. The cap has a small o-ring that falls out often. I am afraid that one day the o-ring will fall out without my knowledge and the unit will be ruined. ... show more
