Description

Wusthof Classic Ikon Creme full-tang knives are precision forged from a single piece of exclusive Wusthof high-carbon stainless steel. The handle design is made of a highly durable synthetic material known as Polyoxymethylene (POM), which features a tighter molecular structure to resist fading and discoloration. The half bolster allows for the knife to be honed and sharpened the entire length of the blade and the heel bolster provides added balance. Each Wusthof Classic Ikon Creme knife features a computer controlled cutting edge to ensure the final edge of the blade is precise and uniform from the tip to the heel. The Wusthof PEtec angle and tapered cutting edge reduces drag when slicing foods, allowing for seamless and effortless cutting. Each knife blade is completely buffed and polished by hand. Luxurious and elegant, Wusthof Classic Ikon Creme knives are made in Solingen, Germany and come with a lifetime warranty.

  • Functional and beautiful, but maybe not worth the extra price
I’m really digging this set of knives. It’s a big premium over the Classic or Gourmet sets so is it worth it? The knife selection is generally good. I like that that the three “big knives” are each useful and reasonably distinct, with a general chef’s knife, a santoku vegetable knife and a good long slender meat knife. The “utility knife” ( really just a serrated steak knife in the German “sausage knife” tradition) is surprisingly useful, and I have been using it frequently. The long paring knife though feels entirely redundant, where a nice detail knife would be a better fit. The shears are not something I would normally look for in a knife set but these seem particularly sturdy and are a breeze to break down for cleaning. The honing steel is mediocre and it isn’t the actual matching classic ikon version, so it is 0/2 waste of money. The bread knife has a nice rocker to it, but a $10 stamped bread knife is just as good. In an otherwise great set these two just feel like padding, like a sports channel you didn’t really want in your cable package. The Chef knife is a little interesting. The iconic Classic knife has a lot of rocker through the forward part of the blade. The Classic Ikon is NOT the same shape as the Classic and has significantly less rocker, feeling a lot more like a henkels. I don’t particularly like this “improvement” but it is a more typical shape for a German chefs knife. The smaller bolster, the altered balance with a pommel, and the ergonomic shape are intended to modernize the knives when compared to the Classic design, but I found that when I use a normal pinch grip the only difference I can tell is that the knife is heavier. I like a heavy knife but I would understand if someone thought these were excessive. Overall, you have to really like the appearance of these knives to be worth the money. Otherwise you get the same quality, identical steel, and performance from the Classic line, which often has discounts and package sales. ... show more

  • Very Nice, SUPER Sharp
This knife set is amazing quality. So, so nice and SO, SO Sharp. I sliced my finger open the first time using them. (My bad, I didn't know how to properly handle actually sharp knives) Very impressed with these.
