  • Excellent pump that includes QC fittings
Color: Red
This is a review for an magnetic drive pump, primarily intended for homebrewers. I'm very pleased with this pump after using it several times during brewing. My electric brewing system has a built in pump, but I have been wanting to get a separate wort pump for a while to use elsewhere, particularly since I can't use the built in pump with boiling water, whereas this unit is able to handle liquids up to 120 C. I have used this pump now several times and impressed. It's superficially pretty similar to many of the other generic pumps out there, but overall the build quality and performance are excellent. It's built like a tank, and is very sturdy. It's also extremely quiet during operation and produces very little vibration, but has quite good flow/pressure. It claims to be waterproof at least against splashes, and I have no doubt that it is. The inline power switch on the cord is a nice addition that you don't always see on comparable units, which is extremely handy though I'm not 100% confident the switch is also waterproof so take care. And as a bonus, it includes male and female quick connect fittings and some hose clamps, which is a very nice addition that makes this unit stand out from other pumps at this price point. General build quality is high, and the threads on the screws are unlikely to strip out like some other cheap pumps I've used. I added a ball valve to the outlet (beware that you should only ever restrict flow on the outlet of a pump, never the inlet) I had lying around so as to be able to adjust the flow so that I can use it for a variety of things. Primarily I have used this pump for recirculating boiling wort during the boil through my hop spider, and for cleaning to drive a CIP ball. It has more than enough pressure to drive the small CIP ball I have, and has no trouble with pumping boiling wort for an hour or more thus far. Removing the pump head for cleaning is also straightforward, and you can likewise rotate it if you need the outlet facing a different direction. There is an integrated bracket for mounting, which I wish was moved forward a little bit to balance better when it's not mounted as it's a bit front heavy just sitting, but it's a minor gripe. Priming the pump (which you always must do, it is not self priming) is fairly easy, about the same as any other comparable pump but not quite as easy as on some of the higher end pumps that include a relief valve for priming. It's not difficult at all to prime and those fancier pumps are 4x or more of the cost so you can just add your own relief valve if you really find that necessary, but I don't. Overall, this is a very good pump at a reasonable price when compared to other similar options, particularly when you consider that it comes with QC fittings which are not cheap. ... show more

  • Quiet, doesn't overheat
Color: Gray
This is a solid wort pump, easy to use and it's been working well without clogs or overheating. It's impressively quiet, and has never gotten too hot to touch. From a friend's experience, I am cautious about adding any leaves or large additives that may clog, but for normal beers, this pump is working well. The switch makes it very easy to use, and for homebrewing or other semi-professional casual use, this should hold up well. ... show more

  • Good value for the money.
Color: Gray
The Chciyich Wort Pump has proven to be an excellent addition to my homebrewing setup. Its high-temperature stainless steel magnetic drive pump head ensures durability and efficiency, even under intense brewing conditions. The safety switch is a thoughtful feature, providing peace of mind during operation. I found the mini ball valve to be incredibly useful for precise flow control, making the brewing process smoother and more manageable. The stainless steel quick disconnect set is a game-changer, allowing for easy and secure connections without any hassle. This pump operates quietly, which is a significant advantage in a home environment. Its compact size doesn't take up much space, yet it delivers powerful performance. Cleaning and maintenance are straightforward, thanks to its well-designed components. The overall build quality is impressive, reflecting careful craftsmanship and attention to detail. I've noticed a significant improvement in my brewing efficiency since integrating this pump into my system. It has become an indispensable tool in my brewing arsenal. Overall, the Chciyich Wort Pump offers excellent value and reliability for any homebrewer. ... show more
