Bought for basement storage. Assembly was straight forward doing it myself, a few sections did require a lot of pounding with the hammer though to get in place. Very happy with the look and metal seems high quality with a nice coating. As much as I was beating on it at times, I don't think it left any marks or anything. Will mostly be using for plastic totes, unfortunately this size only first two normal sized ones on a shelf, which isn't anything against the product itself, just wish there would be a size that would be just right for that purpose. Seems sturdy however missing parts and can’t finish putting it together. Have reached out to Amazon and supplier to obtain needed part. Will update review after we are aware of their response. Totally unusable in current state Update- reached out to Amazon. Still no resolution. Maybe should return it and get a another new Update 2: seller and Amazon were extremely helpful.     • Good value. Use a good hammer
I bought two of these. Pretty sturdy. The second one took me 30 minutes to assemble so it’s quick if you know what you’re doing. On the first assembly: 1) Have a good hammer ready. The instructions say use a rubber mallet, but you may need to use a good regular hammer. There are no screws, so you will need to get the bolt hammered into the insert. You can use the rubber mallet to set the bolt in place, but likely need a regular hammer to get it into the insert completely. I have seen pictures where people only insert half way so they need a regular hammer to hammer it completely down (it will take 3 good whacks). 2) I did have one bolt that I needed to shave a little to get into the insert. I used a bi-metal blade on my multi tool oscillator to shave it a little, then used the regular hammer to whack it in. Disclaimer: Using a regular hammer can damage the shelves, but I didn’t get this to make it pretty. ... show more

Product is not quite as heavy duty as what I saw in our local store but is a great value for what I paid. The assembly was pretty simple using your own rubber mallet. I'd have no issue placing about 200lbs on each shelf (tops) but I would attach the shelf to a wall so it couldn't be pulled down. I like the open steal rod shelving. Others I looked at had particle board which is heavy and would swell if it got wet. You can always put your own piece of wood on the metal shelf if needed. ... show more

    • Seller replaced broken parts with working ones for free
The shelves work great! The original shipment contained a few parts that were bent, so they shipped replacements for free. The shelves do require a hammer to assemble, but they are easy. At first we thought a rubber mallet would be enough, but the edge of the metal pieces tends to cut into the rubber mallet. Maybe a real hammer would have been better. ... show more

    • Terrible design. DO NOT BUY!!!
Do not buy. The wire shelves will just fall collapse inwards when weight is placed on them. They arrive warped and some can not even reach the metal brackets for support. They are also not flat so putting something solid across the middle of the shelf is a bad idea. The frame is fine but the wire shelves are beyond useless. Both of my units have to be held together with zip ties at the moment. Avoid this product!!!!!! ... show more

    • Poor instructions
Updating my review (3 stars now instead of 1). I realized the top supports attach to the bottom ones one notch higher than I was attempting to. This isn't obvious because it's a splice, and I've never encountered a splice that didn't maximize overlap. The 2 knobs don't go into the first 2 full holes. Instead, the higher up one goes into a hole that's open. Basically if you can't get the top tier supports to fit the first tier ones, you're doing it wrong. The instructions don't show the connection in enough detail to know this before potentially spending hours trying to get the other way to work. ... show more
