Fortunately I assembled one of these before and remembered some key points. I recommend looking at the parts and laying them out so you can get the proper piece when you need it. Also, it would help to have someone assist you even if they don't know anything about assembly. They can get a part while you're holding another one in place. Some of the assembly is common sense. You put the big hole over the round flange and then press downward to lock the angle iron support in place. I also recommend doing the lowest level first. Don't connect the lower uprights to the upper half until you complete at least one tier. You will give yourself more room to operate. Some of the connections require a tap with a light hammer but if you feel you're forcing it, you have to stop and see if the round button or flange is seated properly. I like the shelves but I have to say that they cut back on the strength and size of the materials versus about 6 or 7 years ago. It still holds the weight. One of the best features is the depth of these shelves for basement or garage storage. Much better than one foot deep. Even the stability seems better with that 2 foot depth. ... show more

    • Great shelves, but I'll never buy from this manufacturer again.
I had bought six of these shelves for my shop last year. Really sturdy, well put together, no problems at all. I bought four more for my garage earlier this month, and none of them came with the hardware that I needed to attach the top and bottom together--O for 4. A call to the company to ask for the parts was never returned, and while I was able to jury-rig something together to make them work, I shouldn't have had to, and while they're really pretty damn good shelves for the money I will go out of my way never to buy from this brand again, because they really goofed. ... show more

I bought this item as a gift for my daughter. She needed it for online reselling. The shelving unit itself is relatively easy to assemble if you had ALL THE PARTS. It’s missing the couplers to hold the unit together. The box was falling apart so I couldn’t return it. When I informed customer service of not having a box to return the item, they told me to WRAP IT UP and they would have a shipper pick it up. I don’t think they realize how HEAVY these pieces are and that it would cost more money to buy adequate supplies to WRAP IT UP for shipping. Customer service also told me that I can take the unit as is but I will only get a 15% refund on a $186. To me, People deserve more than a 15% refund. This unit is NOT ABLE TO BE USED unless you have the couplers which SHOULD HAVE COME WITH THE SHELVING UNIT. They also informed me that the manufacturer wouldn’t provide the parts needed to assemble the unit. Luckily, my husband is smart enough to figure how to make it work with TONS of bolts, washers, and nuts. I should have read the other reviews when purchasing this product and maybe I wouldn’t be dealing with this situation now. Eventually, after realizing that I was going nowhere in resolving the issue with the seller, I told them to send me the partial refund. They instead scheduled fedex to pick up the BOX with the shelving unit inside. MY SUGGESTION IS TO NOT BUY THIS SHELVING UNIT. ... show more

    • Great shelves for the price
Thought I would write a review since I saw some negative comments … I am very impressed with this product especially for the price. A few notes: 1. Make sure you start with the larger hole opening on the metal brackets ABOVE the smaller opening/channel. That way when you are locking them in place you are putting pressure downward to lock them into the more narrow channel. Once you lock them in they won't move or disconnect. It gets easier as you go - getting the bottom portion put together is the worst part (I was doing it alone). 2. Make sure you have the 4 metal pieces (about 6 inches long) that connect the shelves in the middle. Mine were loose in the box so it would be easy to leave these in the box. 3. When installing start at the very bottom and put the wood shelves in as you work your way up - this gives it more stability as you go. Don't try to just do all the metal parts first and put the shelves in last. Put them in as you go. 4. Getting the metal pieces completely locked into place wasn't easy and I couldn't do it by hand. I used a block of wood and a hammer to gently tap the brackets down into the groove. Once I did this the frame was very sturdy. ... show more

you need a hammer and two long nose pliers to assemble this beast ,Vertical posts are 2 pieces. So the middle shelf has one connector on each beam, making it extremely difficult to assemble need to bend 1 or 3 millimeter Pros: nice design / space shelves Cons: very unstable since no screws are used, two people required to assemble the unit; no booklet and need screws look at picture will not support true weight !!! but lighter weight load yes under 800 lds!!! to be safe ... show more
