The Bottom Line: If you want to organize your yard tools on a budget, this rack is a fantastic value—just don't expect to actually fit 30 large tools on it. Full Review: I bought this Stalwart Garden Tool Organizer to finally tackle the mess in my garage. Here is my honest take on how it performs: 1. Build Quality: Flimsy at First, Solid When Assembled I have to be honest—when I first pulled the plastic pieces out of the box, they felt a little flimsy. I was worried it wouldn't hold up. However, once I actually put it together, the structure tightened up significantly. Performance: After assembly, it seemed to handle everything I put in it just fine. It sits very firmly on the floor and doesn't tip over, even with heavier long-handled tools. 2. Realistic Capacity The "30 Tool" Claim: The description says it holds 30 tools, but I don't think you can really get that many in there. The handles fit the slots, but the heads of the rakes and shovels crowd each other out at the top. Still Plenty of Room: That said, this wasn't a problem for me. It still holds a significant amount of gear and did exactly what I wanted it to do—get my stuff organized and off the floor. 3. Unbeatable Value Price: Just like other items I've bought recently, the price on this was excellent. I looked at similar organizers at the local home improvement stores, and they were significantly more expensive for basically the same setup. A big step up from a carbdoard box, so I'm happy!

I was actually looking for a heavy metal garden cart/trolley, but it seems no one makes them any more - or I don't know where to look. All I could find were instructions on how to build my own - that required welding equipment - and plastic, some of them very dear indeed, so after reading the reviews I got two of these, one for "in" brooms mops etc and one for "out" rakes, shovels, trimmers and so on. These were reasonably priced and an appropriate size and tall enough to actually hold up long handles, many of the other racks were way too short to actually keep the handles upright. These will serve until I can find my metal ones, or I take up welding (grin). They are as expected, plastic and therefore due to the nature of plastic, they are flimsy and over time the plastic will become brittle and will warp and shatter. That said, they will serve their purpose - to tidy up the broom closet and the tool shed, and keep the long handle items corralled and more orderly. The instructions are minimal, and it is not clear which is "front" and "back" unless you study the Amazon picture, or until you get it assembled (wrong in my case) but it comes back apart fairly easily (is that a good thing?). The "front" is the tray side of the bottom and the u-shaped holders on the top. This allows you to store heavy, thick handled items with the business end down in the u-shaped holders- shovels, garden rakes, street brooms, dust mops... As the heavy ends of these items are down and sitting in the tray. it keeps the holder stable and prevents tipping. This rack is not heavy enough or sturdy enough to store heavy shovels and rakes with the business end up, it will tip and fall and would be very dangerous! My "push firmly" wasn't sufficient to get the supports to "snap" in place (per instructions), I found a rubber mallet helpful. I wouldn't use a regular hammer as this is after all plastic, and might break. It has wheels on one end and a grip on the other so you can lift up and roll it. This is not intended to be rolled around the yard, just making it easier to shift its location a bit. It has holes on the back side in both the top and bottom sections so that it can be bolted to a wall to make it more stable. It is clear that "40 tools" counts all your little hand tools - rose shears, clippers, feather dusters, gloves, and does not mean 40 shovels and brooms. There are 5 "large" u-shaped long handle holders, and 5 "small" o-shaped long handle holders for long handled dusters, light bulb changers, fan blade cleaners and the like, and 4 tiny round holes - my feather duster is in one of these. In my case my electric edger fits in one of the u-shaped holders but the grip sticks out and covers the next u-shape holder, so I only have 4 available, so look at your tools handles to figure out how many of your items this will actually hold. This is exactly what I thought I was getting, and it will work for now, but not forever, but it is much better than the cardboard wardrobe moving boxes I have been using, so I am very happy. ... show more

First, this is a great product FOR MY NEEDS. Everyone’s organization needs are different and for what I needed this product was perfect, to include the price. It is exactly as pictured, including the size. It holds 10 tools with long handles and approximately 5 additional small tools if you use the middle section and sides. Is that what you need? In addition, it is not overly sturdy so if you have heavy tools you want to store in an organizer, this is NOT the organizer for you. Medium to light weight stuff is fine though. Cheaply Made & Not Sturdy

I wanted to love this, but couldn't. At first look it seems great but once pulling it out of the package it "feels" like cheap & lightweight material. But alas, I decided to go through with the fairly easy process of assembling this organizer. So looking over the instructions and making sure all pieces were properly placed, I began to assemble (fairly simple) but couldn't finish because - can you guess? - the plastic was broken, and the wheel axel was broken as well. Sigh - I attempted to at least try my garden tools on this, even with broken wheels, but as expected the heavy tools were pulling & tipping this cheap organizer over. Back into the box it went and was returned. And I don't plan on ordering another one. I don't trust a non-broken one around my kids in the garage. I'll stick to my makeshift wooden pallet holder for now. ... show more

Not good

Arrived on time and as advertised. When I assembled this rack it was very flimsy. When I tried putting garden tools like shovels, rakes, brooms, and a hoe it wouldn't stay standing and fell over. I shuffled the tools around trying to find a balance but wasn't successful. Also the holes for the handles are too close and the tools interfere with the tools on either side. Gets the job done

I've had this tool holder before. Held up well for many years. Finally cracked and decided to get a new one. Looked at more expensive and sturdier built, but ordered this one. It is a little tipsy and needs to be in a corner for stability or you can attach it to a wall. Holds lots of tools, nothing very heavy like a shovel, but it does what I wanted it to do. ... show more

It's not the best solution on the market, but if you only have a few tools, it will work fine. For the cost, don't expect miracles. I wouldn't hang anything heavy on one side (like a long hose) unless it was balanced by something on the other side. This is just not that sturdy. The instructions could have been better written. You actually get six leg pieces, though two of them are "disguised" by being part of another set. Pull them apart and you should have 8 pieces altogether. Put two pieces together for each leg and your cart will then be tall enough to put in your rakes, etc. If you're strong you can definitely push the legs into place until they lock. I had to use a rubber hammer to make sure they went all the way down to the bottom. Within its limitations and for the cost it is useful. If I need something sturdier, I will buy a real tool shed. ... show more
