- Boltless Shelving No nuts or bolts are required. You can assemble this shelving unit easily and quickly. A rubber mallet is recommended for assembly to tighten the shelving rack. It is also convenient when disassembled. This shelving is equipped with rubber footpads, which can protect the floor, add extra stability, and prevent the shelving from sliding accidentally.

Good value. Use a good hammer

I bought two of these. Pretty sturdy. The second one took me 30 minutes to assemble so it’s quick if you know what you’re doing. On the first assembly: 1) Have a good hammer ready. The instructions say use a rubber mallet, but you may need to use a good regular hammer. There are no screws, so you will need to get the bolt hammered into the insert. You can use the rubber mallet to set the bolt in place, but likely need a regular hammer to get it into the insert completely. I have seen pictures where people only insert half way so they need a regular hammer to hammer it completely down (it will take 3 good whacks). 2) I did have one bolt that I needed to shave a little to get into the insert. I used a bi-metal blade on my multi tool oscillator to shave it a little, then used the regular hammer to whack it in. Disclaimer: Using a regular hammer can damage the shelves, but I didn’t get this to make it pretty.

A nice unit to be sure, but not my idea of heavy duty. The unit serves it's purpose as home garage storage, but contrary to rated specs, (Under perfectly distributed load conditions I imagine) there is no way it suffices as an industrial grade shelfing system capable of reliably storing 4000LBs. I works fine for my needs, and it is a quality piece. It is not an industrial grade shelf system, and I would not put anything heavy on the higher shelves.

Seller replaced broken parts with working ones for free

The shelves work great! The original shipment contained a few parts that were bent, so they shipped replacements for free. The shelves do require a hammer to assemble, but they are easy. At first we thought a rubber mallet would be enough, but the edge of the metal pieces tends to cut into the rubber mallet. Maybe a real hammer would have been better.

Metal shelving grates bowed and collapse.

I know that this product is not designed for what I it for, but it said that it would support 800 lbs per shelf. I got this unit to hold my two aquariums. I was going to use it as two shorter units like it showed in the description. When it arrived, I put it together exactly like the the instructions said. I was very surprised by how flimsy it was, the metal is very thin. So I tested it out before attempting to put my 75 gallon aquarium or 50 gallon tortoise tank on it. After about 200lbs of evenly distributed weight the shelving grates bowed and collapsed. I ended up having to replace the shelves with 1/2 ply wood and my boyfriend welded two support beams across the middle. Surprisingly enough, the frame is sturdy with the down pressure of the weight after a bunch of reinforcement. The fish aquarium weighs almost 675lbs and the other tank is only about 60lb Would not recommend this until if you are planning on putting a lot of weight on it.

Excellent value heavy duty shelf

Bought for basement storage. Assembly was straight forward doing it myself, a few sections did require a lot of pounding with the hammer though to get in place. Very happy with the look and metal seems high quality with a nice coating. As much as I was beating on it at times, I don't think it left any marks or anything. Will mostly be using for plastic totes, unfortunately this size only first two normal sized ones on a shelf, which isn't anything against the product itself, just wish there would be a size that would be just right for that purpose. May buy another.

These shelves were so easy to assemble and I am a 70 year old female. It took me about 30 minutes. One thing to remember is that the top post attaches to the very top of the bottom post. Now I can organize all the tools.
