The base is good quality and has weight to it. I personally didn't care for the shades and gold stripe so I replaced the shades. These lamps are packaged in styrofoam that breaks apart very easily and you will have it everywhere. Alomst deducted a star just for this.

The lamps were easy to put together, very attractive and the right size for my night stand. The three way bulbs are great to have with the touch feature. The only issue is that there is something wrong with outlet on both lamps. Nothing will go into either of them. Both lamps have stopped working! They didn’t last two full years. The push buttons on both, to dim & brighten the lamp, are not working. I would think these lamps would last longer that 10 months. Not happy!!

The lamps were well packaged for shipping. I had always thought of touch lamps as touching anywhere would switch the light. These lamps only have a touch button. If you do your diligence that is what it says, not what was wanted but I still have the lamps.
