Mounted these on the crossbars of a 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid and transported 2 18 1/2' long cedar strip kayaks about 1000 miles, then transferred the microfoam blocks to a truck mounted rack to carry them the last 100 miles to their new home. The kit worked flawlessly with minamal wind noise. The only problem I ran into was one of the stern tie down ropes broke about 100 miles from the destination due to excessive wear. This may have been due to the way the stern lines were tied, but regardless, there was enough rope left to re-tie the kayak securely. For most of the trip my speed was 65 to 70 mph, but I hit 75 for short spurts. Speed seemed to have little effect on how the kayaks rode. Note that the ropes will stretch with use, so for the first few hundered miles you may want to stop and re-tie the ropes if they are vibrating too much. ... show more

I like the kit, but the foam pads tore as soon as I put them on my roof rack. So far, they haven't torn all the way through, so I can still is them, but I've only used them twice. I don't know if they'll last through many more uses. I guess I'm going to reinforce them with duct tape. The foam needs to be more flexible. ... show more
