I'm a teacher and bought this for my classroom, I have been using it regularly but I almost returned it. After the 5th use, it seemed to quit. I was about to return but decided to reread reviews. I found someone else's that claimed the same thing happened to them and they unplugged the unit and reset it, then it was fine. I did this and it works as good as ever. Thank you to the other reviewer who posted this! Hope it helps someone else.

I wanted a nice shredder to get rid of the excess paper I had from school, junk mail, etc. It works well on copy paper, cardstock, and the occasional coupon flyer. I tested old disks on it. It sliced them like a knife through butter. The thinner the paper is, the faster it shreds. You're getting a good deal for the price. It will shred for at least 10-15 minutes non stop, before it will start to get warm. The shredder has a cooling period to prevent it from overheating. There is also a feature that helps with clearing paper jams. It cuts papers in 2 inch strips. If you're looking for a smaller cut pattern, this might not be the shredder for you. The size of a small wastebasket, it's been consistent in shred ability. I've cleared up space from having it. No more piles of paper.

This item has met my needs well so far after a few weeks. It is especially useful for destroying old CDs. I would recommend it. We see how long it performs well.

But it's the slowest shredder I have ever used. I tried a different one because while the Amazon Basics one I had and liked, it went up too much in price considering my last 2 only lived a year. So if this one lasts longer, I will be ok with slow.

I like the size and operation of the shredder however, the description on Amazon and on the box identifies it as “cross cut” and the one I received is not cross cut, it is a straight cut…. It works well so I decided to keep it..

easy to use and not to noisy, separate slot for compact disk and credit cards and does not heat up as fast and can handle several pieces of paper at once, does not like the plastic very well.
