Came very much in handy during clean-up after some recent flooding, as it wasn't always obvious where moisture had gotten (in walls and drop-ceilings, etc). I can't necessarily vouch for how accurate it is at a professional level, but for my household DIY purposes, I found it on-point, clear, and easy to use! We're not a terribly handy household, and this is my first time using a moisture meter-- so this is a "for dummies" review, in the sense that I had no prior experience and found it very easy and intuitive to use more or less right out of the box. Absolutely glad to have it, as we've had more rains and rain damage -- and leaks, and flooding, and plumbing issues -- the last few years than I've seen in a lifetime, so I expect to be putting it to use with high frequency. Every household should have one!

This moisture meter came quickly. I like that it had all the parts and AAA batteries included to get it working right out of the box. The setup was very simple put in batteries, press the on button and remove the probe tips cover and your able to use. I really liked the design overall. There are rubber grips on the side so you can hold the unit securely. Also the cover for the probe tips has a hole in the center for the LED flashlight. It seems safe you can use the light with the cover on and put the moisture meter in your pocket with the cover covering the probe tips. The cover also secures nicely to the body of the moisture meter. The LCD screen also has a back light which makes viewing the display easier to see. Overall this moisture meter is very simple and easy to use. The buttons are clear and easy to understand there functions.

I liked this meter a lot. First, it works on packing materials like cardboard, and wood. Second, I like that it is so simple and easy to use. Next, I like that it comes with an additional set of probes. Last but not least, are the little things that they thought of when creating this meter. There is a protective cover so you don’t ruin the probes or jab yourself by mistake. You also get a little pouch for it, and they included batteries. I found it was simple enough that if you’ve never used a moisture meter before, this would actually be a great starter meter because it is so simple.

I like this Wood Moisture Meter. It is easy to operate, easy to read, and the readings are very consistent. I like the large display; it is easy to read with large numbers and the backlight makes reading it even better. It also comes with an extra set of probes and a little wrench to change them. If you are checking a lot of wood, you can quickly determine at a glance if the moisture is low, medium or high by the LEDs on top of the display.

I got this moisture meter to check some beams under my house, suspecting they were getting wet from poor drainage. This tool is a great value, works well, and is easy to use. For those new to this type of tool, remember it's destructive; it'll make small holes in whatever you're testing, like drywall. But, it's also the most accurate, making it ideal for testing wood beams as I did. The included replacement pins and flashlight option are nice touches.

This is a handy tool to have around the woodshed and fireplace or woodstove. We burn a lot of wood for heating in the winter and this moisture meter takes a lot of the guess work out of knowing that the wood is seasoned well enough to burn cleanly. This meter is easy to use and easy to read. It comes with good instructions and a second set of tips for piecing the wood.

Knowing that the wood I work with is dry enough to limit wood movement is important. This is especially true with projects of a finer nature. This was easy to use and while I don't have another meter to check it against, I did use it on wood I knew was wet and wood I've had for more than a year. The numbers made sense so as far as I can tell it works great.
