Wizmaker Wand is a great machine so far I did a test run and I was very impressed. Haven't gotten the chance to do much with it as yet very busy with other stuff. Am still trying to learn as much about it as I am a first time laser engraver. As I learn more I ella hive a futher update.

  • Good starter laser engraver and cutter
Nice starter engraver. I was able to get it assembled and connected in just a little over an hour. This is actually my second Wizmaker wand, as the first one I got gave me issues with alignment. It turns out that the set screw on the X axis gantry was missing. Once I ordered and installed the set screw I was back in business. What is interesting to me is that on my first machine the set screw was missing and on this machine it was also missing. I dug through the packaging and found the tiny set screw at the bottom of the packing material. This tells me that it must be common for the set screw to not be installed securely when packing for shipping. Even though I did have trouble with this, I would recommend this machine to someone who wants to try out laser engraving and laser cutting. It's a good inexpensive machine to get started with to see if it's something that you enjoy, before investing more into one of the more expensive machines. ... show more

  • Excellent Starter Laser Engraver Excellent Starter Laser Engraver
The Wizmaker Wand laser engraver has been a great beginner-friendly machine for getting started with laser engraving. Assembly was very easy and only took about 20 minutes, with a straightforward setup process that didn’t feel overwhelming at all. It’s a solid option for hobbyists or anyone learning the basics of engraving and cutting. The engraving quality is impressive for a 7W machine, and it works well on materials like wood, leather, acrylic, and coated metal. The 300x300mm work area gives enough room for plenty of creative projects, and the machine feels responsive and efficient during use. I also like that the control software supports both Windows and Mac, which makes it accessible for almost any setup. My only real complaint is that I wish there was an option to control it from a phone or mobile app for added convenience. Still, that’s a pretty minor downside considering the price and overall performance. You can’t have everything, and for a starter engraver this machine delivers a really good experience overall. ... show more

  • Decent diode laser for the price paid. Don't expect wonders.
Size: WAND12W
Its decent. It works... it engraves. Documentation of both the engraver and the software I feel is sparse, but there are plenty of LightBurn resources included in the software or on-line. The GRBL firmware is some customized version altered specifically for for the Wand. I was able to connect to the laser via Wifi with the BurnLab app on my iphone 9but the app is limited in functionality. I've been unable to connect to the laser via WiFi from my Windows 11 laptop... which would be nice. I believe (not certain) that the included USB cable is proprietary and not universal. On-line e-mail support did respond to my question but I felt that it was a brush off response and not an actual answer to the question about WiFi. There are Firmware version available on the Wizmaker website, but no instruction for how to go about flashing the firmware should you need to ever to that (I am guessing perhaps from within LaserGRBL). All of that said... after burring a test pattern I was able to get a pretty decent engraving of a hibiscus vector image on a piece of padauk hardwood, on the first try. For the money I paid... Im happy with it. Just be able to support yourself and dont expect fancy schmanzy bells and whistles. ... show more

  • Versatile machine gives profession results with only beginner experience
I set the unit up in under fifteen minutes following the pictorial guide, and the clear instructions made initial assembly and the hookup straightforward; operating it felt intuitive, with responsive controls and no awkward learning curve. I used it to engrave a 6"×4" hardwood coaster and later an aluminum nameplate—both came out with sharp detail and consistent depth, though darker fills required slower passes. The finished pieces looked professional for the price, and the machine’s solid frame and rigid rails give me confidence in its durability for regular hobby use. Small annoyances like loose cable routing and a quirky bed-size report in the software cropped up, but they didn’t hinder day-to-day usefulness: it handles wood, coated metals, and acrylic well and is a genuinely practical tool for home craft projects and small-batch items ... show more

  • Exceptional Precision and Power for Makers
I have worked with a few desktop engravers in the past, but this unit is truly exceptional. The 7000mw output power provides enough "oomph" to cut through thin wood and leather with clean, scorched-free edges, while still maintaining incredible detail on delicate engravings. I tested it on a variety of materials including coated metals and acrylic, and the results were consistently professional. The 300x300mm processing area is a sweet spot—large enough for signs and personalized gifts, but compact enough for a standard workbench. The processing speed of 10,000 mm/min is where this machine really pulls ahead of the competition. It handles complex vector paths quickly without sacrificing accuracy. I found the setup to be straightforward, and the hardware feels robust; there is very little vibration during high-speed runs, which is crucial for fine detail. Whether I was etching a high-resolution photo onto wood or cutting custom leather patches, the laser remained stable and precise. For a hobbyist or someone running a small side business, the performance-to-price ratio here is unbeatable. It is a powerful, reliable tool that has significantly expanded my creative capabilities. ... show more
