You might be skeptical about a budget-friendly tattoo kit, but as someone who loves tattoo art and has plenty of personal experience sitting for work done by battery-powered rotary machines, I can confidently tell you that this is a solid, entry-level kit for learning the basics. If you have spent time watching videos on how machines operate and want to try your hand at the art form, this feels like a highly elevated and accessible way to start a new passion project. It truly gets you everything you need to begin hands-on practice on synthetic media. The kit arrived with the battery fully charged, giving me plenty of time to wrap the machine grip tape and familiarize myself with the included needles, inks, ink cups, gloves, and transfer paper. The build quality of the machine is impressive for the price point, and having adjustable voltages right on the battery pack is a fantastic feature for dialing in your speed. It is a super competitive bundle, but it is important to manage expectations—this is a phenomenal tool for absolute beginners to learn machine handling, weight, and hand speed, rather than a professional kit you would use to start booking actual clients. While the kit is highly capable, there are two small caveats to keep in mind. First, the included practice skins are totally entry-level; they are a bit thin, so you will want to be mindful of your needle depth to avoid developing bad habits. Second, the kit does not include instructions on how to get started with the stencil process. Figuring out how to assemble the machine and draw up ink was relatively easy, but the transfer paper can be tricky if you've never used it before. Since there were no instructions included for the stencils, I wanted to share the best tips I found to get a clean transfer on your practice skin. When printing out the design you want to copy, drop your print opacity to about 50% so it is much easier to see where you have already traced. Before you start, make sure to remove the brown protective sheet from the stencil paper packet, and then place the design you are tracing directly underneath the top white sheet. Overall, this kit offers incredible value for anyone looking to practice the craft safely on synthetic skin. The machine operates smoothly, the kit is incredibly comprehensive, and I couldn't be happier with it as a dedicated learning tool!

An affordable tattoo machine that does everything it advertises, it's just not great enough to earn 5 stars. The balance is nice which helps with control as well as hand fatigue. The controls are extremely basic with nothing more than a power button and two additional buttons used to increase/decrease voltage. Like most coil (pen) tattoo machines on the market, you turn the front end to adjust the needle throw (how far it extends from the front barrel). There is no way to set different stroke lengths, it feels like it was set at a default around 3 - 3.5mm. It hits REALLY hard and that could be a problem if you take this to human trials. Everything was packaged nicely and it came with everything needed to instantly start tattooing so that's exactly what I did. The attached image is the tattoo I applied to test how far I could push this little guy. A little bit of lining, shading, wash, and color packing. I did my best to only use the supplies provided by Hailongwen for this review. However, I just couldn't push past the wafer thin practice skin provided. The tattoo attached was completed using the inks, cartridges, and the machine. Even used the transfer paper even though it was folded like an old middle school note. The only thing I brought to the party was the practice skin and a little bit of experience. Final verdict: I would not suggest this to anyone brand new to tattooing because of the limited inputs. You can only adjust the voltage and needle throw. It also doesn't have any battery life indicator, which is bad if you're trying to work on a long piece. You cannot remove the battery so purchasing a backup to have on the charger is a no go. However, at the price point they have this machine, if I were to order this, I would order two just to have one sitting on a charger. If you want something inexpensive to practice using a practice skin. I wouldn't advise using this machine on human skin. It hits like a jackhammer.

This tattoo professional pen machine set surpassed my expectations, especially for a budget friendly tattoo machine under $20. For the price, I expected something very basic, but this kit includes a decent quality tattoo pen machine, cartridge needles, practice skin, transfer paper, grip tape, gloves, ink cups, seven color inks, and several accessories that make it easy to start practicing right out of the box. The machine itself is straightforward and very easy to operate. It has enough strength to push thicker lines and can pack in surprisingly vibrant shading on practice skin. The pen style design is also comfortable to hold, which matters when practicing line control, hand speed, needle depth, and shading consistency. For beginners, a rotary pen machine like this is often easier to manage than a traditional coil machine because the motion feels smoother and the setup is simpler. The cartridge needles are adequate and perform well enough to create a nice tattoo on practice material. I also appreciate that the kit includes the basic extras, because those small items add real value when you are just starting out and do not want to buy everything separately. My only important caution is the ink. The included inks are fine for practicing on fake skin, but I would not recommend using them on actual skin. Tattoo ink safety matters because the FDA has reported infections and allergic reactions from tattoo inks, including contamination found even in sealed bottles. For real skin, I would only use professional quality tattoo ink from a reputable supplier, along with sterile, single use needles and proper sanitation practices. Overall, this is an impressive starter tattoo gun set for the price. It is not a professional studio level kit, but as a practice machine for learning technique, building confidence, and getting started with tattooing basics, it is an excellent value.

this tattoo pen kit is actually pretty packed with everything you need to start practicing right away. the pen feels decent in the hand and not too heavy so it’s ok for longer practice sessions. having inks, needles, and practice skin all included makes it way more convinient if you’re just getting into tattooing. the grip tape helps a lot with control too. only downside is the ink quality feels kinda basic and not super pro level, and the machine can feel a bit inconsistant with power sometimes. still good for learning and getting the hang of things before upgrading.

This budget friendly tattoo machine has surpassed my expectations. For a machine under 20 dollars you receieve not only a machine that is decent quality, with the capability to push thick lines and punch in vibrant shading, but it is straigh forward and extremely easy to operate. It comes with ok inks for practicing, I would not reccomend on actual skin. But the needles are adequate enough to perfor. A nice tattoo out of the box. You also recieve some gloves ink cups and a few other accesories which only add to the amazing price of this machine. If your looking for a nice practice machine with everything needed to start slinging ink right out of the box then this machine is definanrly the way to go.

This kit is, obviously, comically inexpensive and I was not really expecting this to be particularly usable. I ordered this predominantly out of curiosity, although I do actually have a slightly less regular use for it: I’m an LVT that works with a feral cat TNR charities and we tattoo small markings on our spays and neuters. So I figured if this turned out to be a legitimate tattoo machine, it could easily be used for this. What’s funny is that the machine itself is almost perfectly suited for this use, but for anyone hoping to actually produce serious tattoos that consist of more than a few letters or numbers, you are going to want to look elsewhere. I’m not particularly sure what market the seller is actually trying to angle this at, but it seems to be really well suited to anyone that really wants a VERY inexpensive tattoo machine to practice with. This kit includes the tattoo gun itself, 10 tattoo cartridge needles, a set of 7 color inks, a “practice skin” and some various assorted accessories and accoutrements. Its technically everything you need to get started. The machine does work and its actually pretty nicely constructed. The gun is fully metal and it feels very solid and ergonomically comfortable in the hand. It charges via a USB cable (included) and it lasts quite a while on a charge. The big issue is that its very cheap, its functional but it lacks the features and the feel that you have from a more expensive machine. Its a little hard to get a good feel for and it just feels a bit “flimsy” in a weird way. If you are a beginner at tattooing, I would imagine this would be an excellent set to practice with, especially with the practice skins. I’m not sure I would reccomend it for anything beyond that. The one thing I wanted to mention about this kit is the included inks. The ones in this set are highly colorful and pigmented looking in the bottle, but they lack any safety information or normal sealing. I would be really leery of using these inks on anyone’s skin. They are perfect for practicing though.
