Great build quality, faders are fantastic and the “endless encoders” have a setting that allows the velocity of the CC value to be changed based on speed of knob rotation. Big win for live performances.! It does NOT support relative CC mode for synths - it only does absolute value, so the endless encoder is nothing but a fake potentiometer. Also it does NOT have banks/presets for synths(CC mode in the config software) - so it’s just one config that must be used. The copious amounts of buttons which are totally customizable is a great add on as well. Looks great too! Unfortunately I retuned it cause it lacked the banks/presets feature which is a deal breaker for me. ... show more

    • Doesn’t keep settings. Pretty much useless if you change anything.

Doesn’t save midi settings after powered down. I set up a custom Midi CC map with the software and it was fine. Powered the unit down and the next day it didn’t have the settings. Had to reload everything. Tested it the next day and it dumped the settings again. Not worth it.

frustrating to connect to my laptop. it is very finicky and it doesn't hold midi cc settings. so I have to go in and switch it from daw mode to cc mode everytime. and struggles to connect to the midi editor so its overall a really frustrating device to use. I recommend saving up some more and getting something better than deal with this subpar controller. even has a laggy response due to the bluetooth. ... show more

    • MVave Midi Control Surface - Pleasantly surprised.

This review is for the midi-control unit. I did not have high expectations for this when I ordered it, but it was SO cheap (on an Amazon Day special price, so even cheaper than its already cheap price) I thought I'd give it a try. I have been very pleasantly surprised. I also have the Korg Nanocontrol2, but I had trouble with trying to set up CC values for the sliders and knobs. For the MVave I have had no trouble at all - set it up in the app and it works. I have it mainly doing the cc 1 and 11 duties, and perhaps some vibrato or volume control on some libraries, so I keep it in CC mode rather than DAW mode. My keyboard has the transport controls I need, and the knobs control the QC controls in Cubase. The sliders on this unit are the same cheap plastic as on the Korg, but have a longer throw. Purchased this to control dmx lighting via midi on QLC+, and works more or less reliably for my purposes. One small issue I have found, however, is that each fader seems to have different levels of tactile resistance, which doesn't sound like a big problem, but when making adjustments during a live show, it can throw you off when changing the level of multiple fixtures. However, for the price I can't really complain. Features several midi mappable buttons with feedback, as well as faders and encoders, which allow for a great deal of flexibility. Its small size and light weight make it quite portable, but not particularly durable, but then again, you get what you pay for. ... show more

This is a nice little unit, much better built than I had expected. Getting it set up can be a little tricky, as the instructions are really bad. The main point to remember is it starts out in DAW mode by default each time you power it on, but it can be put into CC mode by holding the Shift button and the bottom right button at the same time. ... show more
