Ok. First of all these stools are really sturdy and was exactly what I was looking for........ With that been said. You will need two things prior to starting. First thing, get a drink. WITH ALCOHOL! Have your drink prior to opening package. At first you are going to want to instantly freak out. Dont freak out. If you do, take a deep breathe and finish drink. Follow instructions. Seriously follow instructions... It took approximately 20-30 minutes per stool.. Once you have finished. Compliment yourself and make your second drink.. Congratulations!! ... show more

I ordered these bar stools for the peninsula in my kitchen. I needed something that was sturdy and washable (with two grandsons ages 3 and 5), both needs were critical. They arrived very quickly but needed to be put together. It took me an afternoon but I just put on a movie and got started. The first one took the longest since it was a learning curve. When they say don't tighten the screws until it is all put together, trust me, they mean it! I, of course, learned the hard way. But I'm going to add VERY loose, just enough to hold them in position. Once I got in the groove, three remaining took far less time. I do wish they used screws instead of an alan wrench (easier on my poor hands), but they are done and they are sturdy, washable, and look great! I will also say that the customer service was excellent. My puppy decided to chew a few of the rubber pieces that cover the screw holes. I offered to pay for them to send additional ones, but they refused to accept any payment. I had the new pieces in a couple of days. These were inexpensive and I know they will last for years. And...the grandson's love them. So do the big people! ... show more

My bf and I spent 2 weeks trying to decide on some bar stools for our house, everything was expensive and we couldn’t decide. Last minute we just went with these because they were the cheapest ones we saw. I was very surprised how much I loved them!! They are pretty comfortable and my butt doesn’t hurt after sitting for a while (my fear as a family member had similar ones and they are so uncomfortable) The assembly is very very basic, but I couldn’t tighten everything on my own since you only use an L key. It was difficult at the last turns to tighten so my bf has to finish them. But overall we love them!! ... show more

1. Very Sturdy, Long wood screws. 2. Paint Job 4 out of 5. The underside looks a little more unsanded and is rough, doesn't effect most usage but is a minor to medium let-down. 3. The picture looked like the middle curvature was a little more pronounced. I'm slightly disappointed it's not 0.25" further down -- maybe that is a observational fault or just the cost of buying this on the internet. 4. Summary I would rate this 4.5 out of 5 because of how sturdy this is. 5. Oh, the feet are obviously wood -- you'll need felt feet [sold seperately] if you plan to put this on wood or sensitive floors like I have. ... show more

Beautiful bar stool. I bought 3 of them a few weeks ago, arrived in great condition. I read ALL of the reviews before buying and a lot of people talked of the horrors to put these together.. I was nervous but honestly it's not bad. It's actually super easy and I used the allen wrench they provided. It does take a bit of time tightening everything so if you had an electric driver it would be quicker but I did it with my 1 and 4 year old sons jumping all over me and climbing and sword fighting with the pieces. I laid the seat top down, positioned the 2 legs that have the red dots and tightened them in place. I then added the 2 remaining legs (don't tighten yet) and the connector foot rest horizontal pieces. They fit in pretty easily and will stay there since two of the legs are fixed in place. I then tightened the remaining legs and other pieces. So simple. I didn't look at the instructions, maybe that is throwing everyone off, but trust me - worth the buy. They are incredibly sturdy and fit well into my minimalist modern family room. I was a bit upset to see the price decreased by almost 4 dollars each but you win some you lose some. ... show more

    • Simple, but Difficult, Assembly Required

I had the "pleasure" of assembling 4 of these stools on Sunday. On the plus side -- all 4 packages contained ALL of the necessary parts. On the negative side -- there are 12 screws to install for each stool. For each of the 4 longest screws - attaching the legs to the seat -- I could not fit my screwdriver in the space provided and had to use the supplied allen wrench. Each of these took me about 5 minutes to install (1/4 turn at a time, give the tight space) -- that's over an hour just for those 16 screws (plus lots of knuckle-bashing). The other 8 screws per stool -- to attach the cross-pieces between the legs -- were easier to install because there is plenty of room to use a screw driver, drill, or even the supplied allen wrench which you can turn in full rotations. Once assembled, all 4 of the stools I assembled were sturdy and "level" on the floor with no rocking. Recommend buying felt (or teflon) "feet" to complete project ... show more

The end result is great. I will admit they were challenging to assemble, but only because they are Allen wrench screws. You really do need your own Allen socket to put these together without cursing and screaming. Fortunately, I have a very robust tool set. If you plan to put these together with the included Allen wrench, you should set aside a few hours and prepare to have very sore fingers. Other than that they are rock solid and used daily by my family which includes 3 men, no toddlers here. They have a nice scoop in the seat to hold your bum. I do not feel any creaking or uneven rocking with these stools. The quality is outstanding, especially for the price. I have purchased chairs in the past that have cracked within a short period of time and I do not anticipate that happening with these stools. ... show more
