Unless you're putting this on a window that's already installed, be sure to work on a flat solid surface. Be sure to work all bubbles out of it or you may end up with some "fish eye" effect.

I mean, what more to say? If you've installed car tint before, this will be a walk in the park for you. It's easier because you're most likely applying it to flat, right angle panels instead of a curved surface with curves and weird turns. Peeling the clear backing is kind of a PITA. Also, this stuff is thicker than normal car window tint, so make sure you're using a fresh razor blade when working with it. You'll want to get some structural caulking to seal up the edges as well. Does it look like it'll prevent shattering? Sure. Does it matter if you don't connect the film to the frame? Not one bit. This is only 50% of the materials needed to perform its intended purpose. Otherwise, I love the look. The frosting gives plenty of privacy without impacting light transmission too much, and it doesn't look sketchy like blacking out the windows does. I installed it on some older single pane glass in a couple exterior doors and on my garage doors and it gives a bit more modern look to the 70s era hardware. It'll suffice for a temporary solution until I get the doors replaced with more secure modern varieties.

I got this film to coat a loose pane of glass for a window I’m building; should have been a really simple task. The problem is this film is too stiff, and the adhesive too weak, to be useful. When unrolled onto the glass, the edges continually peaked off the glass and the entire film would recoil itself off the glass and into a roll. I was able to get the glass flipped over so the film was on the bottom, but even after staying that way overnight, the film was still pulling off in the morning. I tried wrapping the ends with tape to hold the film down, which kind of worked, but even still it’s propensity to want to pull up means that new bubbles keep forming under end edge of the film. I’ll be removing the film because it is worthless and doesn’t do what it’s advertised to

Our neighbors in the back of us decided to put a pool this year in there back yard and there house sits up higher than our yard so the top of there swimming pool is at the top of our 6 ft privacy fence nice uh. So, with that being said when there in there pool they're constantly looking into our kitchen since the window is open to get light to our house plants. We're tired of being watched all the time so I got this frosted window film to put on the windows so light can still get in but the neighbors can't see in. It has worked great plants are still alive and we have more privacy again. The film was easy to install myself. The stick is good and the price was even better.

So, this product is durable, but it's difficult to work with and quite unforgiving. Here's what to do. Prep: 1) Mix the solution exactly as stated--mine had me use baby shampoo and water which worked. 3) Cut sheet to intended size. It works best if slightly inside of edge; exact or over risks not adhering at corners. 3) Clean mirror or window rigorously. Ensure you aren't wearing clothes with lint or fibers that fall; ensure room is clean because everything will show up. 4) Carefully peel plastic off product; it will try to fold into itself (adhesion to adhesion which is will ruin that cutout). 5) Spray mirror/window and product (adhesive side) generously with solution (missed locations will result in adhesive glue showing when done). 6) Carefully line up and lie down product onto mirror or window. Slide/adjust into desired location (requires step 5). 7) Use recommended squeegy (5 stars), starting in the middle performing full strokes (I find vertical works best; think of taking a / position and going straight down). Press firm and move quickly. Provide about 5 strokes per line. If you overlap lines at about 1/4"-1/2" this will help ensure removal of water pockets and air bubbles . 8) wipe down edges with dry glass cloth. 9) keep an eye out for shimmers and bubbles. If you tackle as soon as they appear, you have a chance of removing them, otherwise you don't. Hopefully following these steps will prevent step 9.

Several years ago I used this product and it was much thicker and adhered extremely well. Now it is very thin and a waste of time and money. I should have known something was not going to be right as the tube was much lighter then the older version and the price the same. I would rather have paid more, as cost of things have gone up, than get an inferior product. Especially as this is ment to protect my home and family!
