I own a glass top Zendra (brand) desk for my home office. This desk has a metal tubular frame to hold a glass top above. (A lot of similar glass top desks are designed in this same manner). I use a desk pad on top of glass top. The desk pad prevents light to light up the keyboard below the glass top. When I tried to mount this light bar, I could not use the magnetic mounting bracket (that came with it) because it would mount too low (thus interfering with the keyboard tray pulling in and out under desk.) So I ended up using long zipties to mount the light bar directly to the metal tubular desk frame under the glass top but above the keyboard tray. The button to turn the light bar on and off is located on the end cap of the light bar so it is easy to turn it on & off. I purchased is the 5 watt plug-in version of this light bar (without the battery). This light bar is dimmable but I use it at the brightest 5 watt setting. (The only thing I wish was that it was a bit brighter than 5 watts.) I’m also glad I did not get a motion detector style light bar. (I needed a reliable continuous light source.) FYI: Because I use the desk pad on the glass top part of the desk, the light from this light bar does not show through the glass top above it & it concentrates the light from this light bar towards the keyboard tray when the keyboard tray is pulled out. See my photos of the keyboard tray with the light bar “on” & “off”. I just mounted this today, so I cannot address the long term use of this item at this point. Light never had motion sensing... the magnet that holds it to the bracket was weak so it wanted to fall off anytime you turned it on... bought it in November it has now quit working the First of February. Figured with only limited use it would last a long time.. it didn't and too late to return it... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as it really was a disappointment for so many reasons... ... show more

We are using this light bar as a desk light and it does the job great. I enjoy the ease of being able to move it a bit to focus on what I’m working on at the desk. The only down side is that we have little kids who also use the light and haven’t figured out how to “very gently” touch the side to turn the light on and off. The light bar has fallen plenty of times from its magnetic holder because of this....but still hasn’t broken or even cracked! Overall, a great purchase. ... show more

One died from static .... touched it and poof.... so if you live in cold climates, and you have static .... don’t touch these lights.... company says they have a return policy and to contact them, however, I see no way to reach them... Will keep looking.

Good little light so far. You may need to replace the usb cable though. It is too large for the connector. It works fine on my tablet, but not on this lamp. I just found an old one in the drawer and it works. I am too far away from my bedside lamps to turn them on or off so it was either the clapper or this. ... show more

I would give it more stars but it really needs a stronger magnet. Any light bump or small tug on the cord sends it crashing. SO annoying! That said, it has taken many falls and still works. The plug is even bent (from a fall), and it works. Be aware this is a corded device! Some others (more expensive) are battery/ rechargeable. ... show more

I’ve had it for a couple weeks and I really like it. I’m using it on my vanity. The light has a dim setting as well as an ultra Bright setting. The cord is long enough to connect to the outlet behind and the adhesive it comes with adhesives. I really like that they included extra adhesives.
