With a full stainless steel housing and marine-grade components, this heavy-duty and robust ice maker produces an impressive 23 lbs of ice per day and is able to hold up to 12 lbs of ice. Aiming to conserve space with a stylish look, the 14-inch width makes this ideal for in-cabinet installation with no additional clearance required around the sides. The front-venting design allows you to install this stainless steel ice maker under a counter or in-cabinet for a seamless appearance. Featuring high grade stainless steel and hardware components that are UV and corrosion-resistant the unit will have superior durability in harsh environments. The ice maker also comes standard with a 6 foot highly durable braided stainless steel waterline connection hose. The Whynter MIM-14231SS can be reversed to open from either the left or right to complement the flow of your space design. The Whynter MIM-14231SS is equipped with a latch-lock that keeps the door securely closed under various mobile conditions while allowing easy access when required. Using less than 3 gallons of water to produce 23 lbs of ice a day, the ice maker is ideal for mobile use. Additionally, melted ice is recycled into new ice and no drain is required, allowing for fast and convenient installation in most spaces.

Installed a few weeks ago and unit works very well. Installed in boat. Replacing g Uline ice maker. Had to cut off a couple of protruding screws on bottom to slide into existing hole. Tight fit but works. Also bought trim mount. Could only use the flush to cabinet. Flush to door was to big.

Nicely built stainless steel body. But within a few actual hours of use, it stopped making ice. The repairs took a long time since parts for this unit are very hard to find. I have it on my boat and only turn it on when I go out. See, it has had maybe 40 to 50 hours of actual use. Right now, it trips the marina GFI (50-amp power fuse) the instant you turn it on. A technician just diagnosed that the compressor is shorted to ground, and a new compressor is over $700. So it's not worth fixing. I would not recommend this icemaker! ... show more

Excellent VALUE as compared to competitors. Installed 3 moths ago and running great. No problems. Low noise level a real plus. Production of ice is great. I did note others that had start up issues and read the directions carefully, we let the unit sit installed for 3-4 hours before turning unit on. My old ice maker was a champ. Sorry to see the old one go, but after 6 years of making ice (it lived for it!),, it started to have issues with the ice making portion. Can't get that part anywhere.. so what the heck-- Got a new one today via amazon (one day delivery). Seems the newer model has a better door closer and it is quieter. Made the first batch in about an hour. Hope to get another 6 years of ice. The packaging was way better than the one I bought 6 years ago.. no issues at all. ... show more

Update: less than 2 months and the water valve stuck open and flooded the area. Working with support was a bit of a slow process and them sending someone to repair was not an option - I had to basically tell them what part I thought it was. They sent me a new part to replace - fortunately, I'm fairly handy or it could have been a real nightmare because the part had been designed differently so making it work was a challenge to say the least. So far, so good since the repair - will see how long it lasts. Finally an ice maker I love! I have tried several and I love the shape of cube and the fact that I don't need a drain and to continuously replace melting ice. I hope it lasts! The only thing I would change (and I would pay more for actually) as if the unit was taller and held more ice… That would make this a perfect icemaker! ... show more

We had the plumber install the new water line and hooking this unit up was very easy. The unit works well and makes a lot of ice. Compared to the higher end U-line icemakers this is half the cost and works just as well. I would buy it again.

Great price, however it is very noisy as some of the reviews of stated. I have contacted customer support to see if there's anything they can do about that, guess that will be the determining factor. Also it is not as advertised, the latch which is shown on the Amazon page is not on the ice maker that I received. Don't know if that is a mistake, or if maybe I received an older model. ... show more
