    • Perfect drop-in replacement for 1990's vintage White-Rodgers thermostat
Our vintage all thermostat started to display the "low battery" indicator even with a fresh battery, meaning it would not be able to program. Apart from a mounting hole being in a different place, this was a quick, drop-in replacement which functions in exactly the same way.

Is exact replacement. Was easy to install, just wrote down the existing color wiring connection and took 30 minute to install. Saved me ton $ as heating cooling company installed original with new electric furnace wanted $125 for the Thermostat and $100 to install.. I did it all for $78

I bought this thermostat to replace my 20 year old White-Rodgers one. This one is great, they've added a backlight and larger digital numbers. User friendly product!

Red power line goes in w red horseshoe wire for heat and cool. Do not remove horseshoe just insert red power line.

    • Very accurate and almost imperceptible temperature swings
Big improvement over my older thermostat. I don't use the programmable feature which did seem a little difficult to set but I replaced my older model because I wanted a more accurate thermostat. This one allows to adjust the displayed actual temperature by up to plus or minus 4 degrees. This is great because often a thermostat is usually located in a central area away from potential drafts, i.e., the warmest part of the house in winter. If your other rooms are usually one to two degrees cooler, then you can adjust the reading downward to compensate. Also, this thermostat has a fast recycle setting which I like because the temperature varies very little from its high when the heat just finished being on to its low just before the heat turns on. In fact, I never see the actual displayed temperature vary 1 degree up or down from where I have it set. Thus, I feel very comfortable because of almost imperceptible temperature changes in the house. This summer I'll see how it handles AC. ... show more

    • Seems to be fine
I had my HVAC tech install this for me when he came to do my routine maintenance so I don't know how easy it is to install. This replaced an almost identical thermostat I had had for 16 years. The one on my other system seems to be still working well. I like the straight forward way it programs (a friend has a different brand programable and it is very difficult). It seems to work well. The display is not quite as easy to read as my old ones, but it is okay. ... show more

    • Programmable Thermostat
Programmable Thermostat did not supply a jumper wire for to operate both heater and air conditioner. The wiring diagram did not indicate a jumper wire. I had to figure it myself with previous Honeywell thermostat. The Honeywell thermostat did not work for Trane HVAC.
