  • Cheery kettle
Color: Orange
This kettle works perfectly. Like any other, in order for whistling to work, 1) don’t overfill, keep water level at least 1/2” or so below spigot opening/hole inside pot, and 2) the cap has to be pushed ALL the way down, and 3) spigot cap has to be closed. Long as that’s done it will whistle—not loud enough to wake neighbors, probably not loud enough to wake sleeping occupants, and not loud enough to supersede blasting tv or stereo—it is loud enough to be heard in the next room long as you’re listening for it. It’s a tea kettle, not a freight train. Also, when not in use, rinse, or if need be wash, it out with hot water, dry it thoroughly inside and out with a towel, and let it set for a bit where insides can be reached by circulating air. I turn mine upside down and leave it propped at an angle in the dish strainer all afternoon a couple times a week. This will keep it from rusting. It’s the same basic stuff you’ll have to do with any tea kettle and the like. Best part, mine is a very durable seeming, cheerful orange color that brightens my kitchen and, literally, brings a smile to my face first thing in the morning. I searched many websites over a couple weeks time, and viewed pretty much every kettle out there before choosing this one. I’ve used it a couple times every day for over a month. Still looks brand new and I expect will continue to do so for many years. Very happy with the choice. UPDATE: Used 1 to 4 times every day. Still going strong. Still happy. Still looking good. Although due to my own mistake there’s a faint grayish ring directly above stainless steel around the bottom. Probably noticeable only to me. Still I‘ve considered getting a new one and came directly here to see if the same pots are still available. Another instructional note: I only boil water for tea in mine, and pour that atop whatever concoction is in the cup and let it steep until cool enough to consume. If burner is on high and spigot cap isn’t closed (so it doesn’t whistle), and you head off to wherever, returning hours later, you’ll find it’s long since boiled dry and turned black inside. A green scrubbie or sos pad will be needed to clean it out. 2nd time it happened I went off to work all day. This resulted in the grayish ring. Still works perfectly. In fact, think I’ll continue using my same happy little hard working teapot! ... show more

  • Great Whistling Teapot
Color: Pink
Bought this as a gift for my girlfriend. She loves it and uses it daily. Whistling tea pots aren't something you see very often anymore so we wanted to get one. This one looked really nice and the price was really affordable so I ordered it and it has been great. Seems to be of good quality and the whistle works really well. We haven't noticed any rust or areas that concern us yet. So far it still looks good as new. ... show more

  • Discolored after just a few normal uses. Too bad- it looked great at first
Color: Orange
We recently renovated our kitchen and painted the walls orange. This tea kettle initially looked great on the stove, and really worked with the color of the room. The slightly Steampunk style works well in contrast with our rusted corrugated roofing backsplash. We wanted to love it, but over just a few weeks and hardly any uses, problems have developed. The GOOD: Out of the box, it is a stunning, eye-catching design that can work with design-heavy OR more traditional decor. The handles work well and when water is boiled are comfortable enough for most people to pick up without a potholder. The top clicks in tightly. The whistle is loud, bright, and shrill (as it should be). The BAD: It is January 2. We bought this on December 10. It has been used exactly 4 times since we got it, and the paint is already discolored due to normal heating. There are 3 spots on the painted body where the orange has shifted to yellow. In looking at the reviews, this seems to be a common problem with the orange and pink versions of this product. BOTTOM LINE: I wanted to love this because it looks REALLY great, but the quickly deteriorating paint just makes this a no-go. Don’t buy it- you’ll be disappointed. I plan to ask for a refund. I will update this review based on how that goes. ... show more

Color: Pink
Beautiful but the color got splotchy after use. The kettle now has areas that have faded color, too.
