Hello I just want to write a review for this AC unit I have to say I am thoroughly impressed make a long story short we have a double wide it's a few years old and it does have central air and heat we live in Florida our electric bill was constantly running in the $400 range per month and the unit behind the house was probably 15 years old I'm guessing and it was working its tail off to keep the house cool I work outside so when I get home I wanted to be 73° in the house or under so I bought this unit a couple of months ago I wanted to wait to give a good review our house is probably 900sq ft no it's not huge but it's big enough for me and my wife two bedroom two bath this unit keeps our house ice cold all day and night and it shuts off several times during the day so it's way more efficient than our central air we just got our electric bill yesterday it went from $400 a month to $162 this month I would absolutely thoroughly recommend this unit it doesn't have all the bells and whistles like some of the other ones but I don't care about that all I care about is our house being cool if I'm sweating at night I can't sleep... so absolutely is a phenomenal unit it is also fairly quiet inside best bang for the buck ... show more

Easy install. Fairly quiet. Replacement for Kenmore (yes seats) 15k BTU . Makes some strange noises during first minute but that goes away and pumps out beautiful cold air. Also the unit takes a lot more moisture out of the air than the previous. Also can be used as a dehumidifier when cooling not needed. That’s a great feature. Plus. Delivery even put it on my front porch up 7 stairs💪🏼 at 70 lbs that was greatly appreciated ... show more

AC would not work. All instructions followed, conditions for operation are optimal. No issues that would keep the unit from operating correctly. Unit will not run properly. I called Whirlpool for help. They tried to trouble shoot with no success. They told me to contact Amazon for more trouble shooting. 🤔 Amazon could only offer refund options. I need to box up the unit, haul it to an ups store and ship it back. Home pick won’t work because someone needs to be home. I’m done with Amazon. I’ll order my dog food and vitamins but I’ll never purchase a “large” item from them again. Walmart/Costco/Lowes/Menards… YOU HAVE MY BUSINESS!! ... show more

    • “COOL” TO THE RESCUE
FANTASTIC in more ways than one!! Our whole house A/C went out 2 full weeks ago. Temperature was 85-89 degrees thru out the whole house. Huge replacement costs. NO Way now. So we had portable a/c units but as good as they are, certainly not for long term use, while we decide just kind of new A/C system for our house. SO, we explored WINDOW units on Amazon & found a Whirlpool 15,000 BTU window unit needing only a regular voltage household outlet and to cover up to 750 sq feet. Ordered it for a Saturday delivery. Somehow the Amazon angels just knew we were in distress. The unit arrived 24 hours EARLY on Friday. Our son installed it in a living room window & within 2.5 hours and the cool began to circulate. AWESOME!! We still use the portable units in the bedrooms and box fans to circulate cool air thru out the rest of our 1200 sq ft 3 b/rm house. Settings on all units are set on “dry” to pull out the moisture from the air. This is the BEST solution to a temporary situation. We’ll be able to make the right kind of choice for a long term A/C replacement instead of making a very expensive panic decision. THANK YOU WHIRLPOOL, THANK YOU AMAZON.     • Cools 800 sq. feet easy
I hadn't purchased a window A/C unit prior to this so I didn't really know what I was looking for when I perused Amazon. The first thing that they all mention is the size the of area that the A/C unit will cover. There are calculators online that account for ceiling height and area of the rooms. Ultimately, I went with this 12,000 BTU model and chose whirlpool because I was at least familiar with the name. I had been concerned on many of the reviews that the units were arriving damaged or the radiator fins severely bent. That was not the case for mine. It did show up with a very small corner dent but no evidence that the unit had been opened prior. I imagine that it just got a little roughed up in transit since the thing weighs as much as a small car. That's another thing to keep in mind, as you go higher with BTU on these a/c units the weight will increase. Luckily, once it's in place the weight really doesn't matter. Overall, it's a very solid unit that was relatively easy to set up. I don't think that window A/C units ever set up that elegantly though since there is always some finessing with extra foam or duct tape to get a proper seal. The A/C unit isn't quiet but it also isn't a jet engine in the room. Living in the city, I appreciate the white noise at night. ... show more
