I purchased this in Florida after my AC went out for 2-3 weeks. Not only that but my roommate is a normal person who likes the house to be just over or under about 75, 70 at very coldest. I don’t have a super large room but I would say it’s medium for the area I live and this window unit gets it down to my desired 61 degrees in roughly an hour…. I have a thermostat in my room that has gone down to 59 several times even. I have not had a single issue with this. It was simple to install and I haven’t noticed a huge difference in my electricity bill as I don’t have to go downstairs to lower it once my roommate goes to work anymore. Not only that but I have a bunch of other crap plugged into the same electrical circuit around my room and I have had 0 issues running them without thought. My room has been fondly nicknamed the Igloo room since. It’s the first thing I do when I get home after working outside and it does a great job keeping cold as long as I have it on. Packaged very nicely. Installed quickly. Cools off the room quickly. Like the remote option. Had to drill a hole on the bottom to release water build up but it is LOUD!!! Even louder than my old one.

The delivery was faster than I thought, but despite the box being fine, the unit inside was dented on the top (so much so that the bar on top couldn't be attached properly) and the back as well. I didn't mind the cosmetic issues so I installed it anyway. It was VERY noisy, often making whirring/squealing/rattling sounds. I have no clue if this noise is normal or if the inside was also damanged. I'd paid to have someone help me install it, so I looked into customer service first. It turns out that issues/warranty stuff isn't handled by Whirlpool but some outside party. I decided to return this and just go with a different machine. ... show more

Came packaged well, gets very cold had has cooled off three rooms! It is so loud, sounds like it’s chewing on something. I like a little noise but if you don’t, please don’t buy!
