I put in a new softener when I bought my home 5 years ago. Lately we’ve really been having problems w/ the water. I stumbled upon this product. Amazing. I half expected some small results. It’s like a brand new softener. The water is so clear it’s like spring water. The water pressure doubled. My shower, kitchen sink and toilet bowl are so clean! I just dumped it in the brine tank hit regen & held until it started. It did take about a day 1/2 to get rid of a very slight almost imperceptible smell.     • Check screen in Nozzle Venturi assembly after use.
The product works. Remember it will remove contamination in the resin bed. Some of the removed particles may clog the cone shaped screen in the Venturi mechanism. You should take the cap off the venturi, and clean any residue that it collected after the regen using the cleaner. I didn’t do this once and ended up with half a tank of brine on the next regen. BE SURE to set the water softner in bypass mode using the plastic valve at the input to the softner before doing the following, and reset to IN-SERVICE mode before the regen after cleaning. I took out as much water with a Tupperware 1/2 gallon pitcher, cleaned the gunk off the inside of the cone shaped screen, and ran another regen. All worked fine after this. ... show more

My water softener stop to produce softer water anymore after 20+ years. I cleaned up the ventral valve but no helps. Poured the cleaner into the brine well and started softener regenerate, water became soft again.

We were not always punctual with keeping salt in our softener. We have a well and live in New England so thaw water has so many minerals in it and is hard. It’s such a nuisance! This product helped clean out everything! I am sold on using this every once in a while because it helped in so many ways!

    • Important Maintenance Item
The Whirlpool® water softener cleanser is extremely important for your water softener. The softener beads will eventually clog up from the deposits in the water it is conditioning. I've used this product since 2013 every 3 months and the softener has been operating as designed since it was new. Highly recommended. On another note for your machine. I also recommend that you yearly look in the brine tank to make sure it isn't getting contaminated with dirt, bugs, etc. I clean mine out yearly when it is almost out of salt and then spray the tank with a hose and use a wet vac to remove the water, rinse and repeat until clean. ... show more
