In my barn, I get these swarms of little flies that fly in organized square holding patterns. They're very quickly trapped by this product. I can confirm that these are very effective for many species of flies in the Northern US and probably parts of Canada. As others have mentioned, be very gentle in extending the roll, as it tends to be fragile. Take your time. I wear disposable gloves in case I have to touch the sticky part or it brushes against my hand by accident. As long as you have realistic expectations, this is an excellent product. By realistic expectations, I mean that it simply can't attract every species of fly worldwide, but it might work in your region. If it had a universal attractant it would be a pretty impressive feat of chemical engineering. The same is true of ant bait and non-toxic mouse bait. Sometimes the species doesn't find it interesting and that's just the way it goes. Your mileage may vary accordingly, but it doesn't mean the product is trash. ... show more

  • Cheap and effective, if you have a place to hang it.
Size: 1 Pack
It's a strip of glue. If you've never used such a thing before, then this seems like an ineffective way to catch flies, but if you leave it alone for any period of time, you'll be surprised by what you find stuck to it when you come back. I don't know if it's "sufficiently" sticky, but I have multiple traps practically encrusted with flies so whatever it is, it is sticky enough. The big problem is that there are places I have an infestation but no place to attach it to; light fixtures seem best since flies like the light and will happily fly right into the trap but if you have no such place then you'll need alternate solutions. I'd take a half star away from the review if I could for that particular issue, as well as the fact that, well, it makes no bones about the fact it's basically a length of packing tape flapping in the wind and you'll be greeted with a strip of fly corpses whenever you enter a room which might be a little off-putting to say the least. I'd probably also not use this for anything save a plague of flies, the stray fly that might find in an otherwise bug-free home probably should be dealt with in a more manual method. ... show more

  • Super sticky! A good price
Size: 1 Pack
Very, VERY, sticky! I ruined the first one and it ended up stuck to me and breaking - so be very careful twisting it out of the tube, don't let it touch anything! Had to use dish liquid to get it off my skin. So far it is catching gnats, so I may put one in the kitchen as well as the bathroom - it did not catch the huge flys that were getting in, I think they laughed at it, but if they did touch it I have no doubt it would have caught them. ... show more

  • Unattractive Fly Magnets for the few caught
Size: 1 Pack
I didn't find the Terro Sticky Fly trap to be super effective against the flies I was seeing in my house. Yes, it caught maybe 3-4 at most, but for the difficulty putting them up, or finding places to hang them, I think some kind of trap would have worked better. Whatever odor it is supposed to use to attract the flies didn't seem to attract very well. They are not the most attractive item to have hanging on one's house, either. I think unless I need for garage, shed or barn use, I'll stick to some kind of unobtrusive trap instead. ... show more

  • The only one's you'll ever need!
Size: 1 Pack
These really do work! And I mean nothing works better! The others are just sticky traps! That's it! These have a science behind them, that really attracts the bugs! It's going to shock you how many bugs this will catch so quickly! Others takes months! The quality is also unmatched. I've tried many many different ones before! Edited: After reading other reviews after writing this one, I realized one thing! It probably works very well if it's hung up right up under a ceiling light! Because that's exactly where all of mine are hanging! Bugs are attracted to the light! Hang right up under your ceiling light! Use the screws already on the ceiling light if you can't use the tack! Just hang it via the screw part hanging out of the light cover! Or remove the cover, and hang from the screws inside! Idk, but the trick has worked well in every single room!!! And someone said these aren't baited, yes they are! If you have used their ant baits, you know!!! ... show more

  • I think it works I think it works
Size: 1 Pack
Long story short, this solved our gnat problem but I have no idea how. I don't know if anything got stuck to the tape but the bugs are gone. Since it worked, I won't question it. So we had these annoying gnats/fruit fly like bugs that were only in our bedroom for the most part. There was only like 1 or 2 per day but they were those ones that drives you nuts by flying right in your face and you can never kill them, so we bought these. They opened fairly easily without much force or the string or anything breaking randomly. I took the time to unravel it and tried pulling it tight and holding it like that for a bit, but as soon as I let go then it just wound right back up. I figured it would unravel on its own after hanging it up, so it wasn't a big deal. (The pic with more light shows how it was out of the box the first night) We put it into our ceiling above our computer where those things managed to evoke the most rage in us and went to bed. The very next morning we didn't see any flies. I didn't notice any stuck on the tape either though. Its now been 4 days since putting the fly paper up and we have not seen a single one of those gnats anywhere in my home. I *think* one may be stuck to the paper, but not completely sure, it could be dust too. I really don't understand it. We had these flies for 3 weeks and no severe change in weather or anything else, so I know it was these papers. They're the only change we made. Also side note, it ended up unraveling a little bit after we turned on our humidifier last night, but otherwise it still hasnt really straightened out yet.(You can see in the 2nd pic, the darker one where more of the window is in the shot) Its only been up for 4 days and I just measured it to be about 2 feet, even with it still curled a bit. I saw some other reviewers not like that it didnt unravel completely. I don't mind since it's not like we need the extra tape space and I'd probably manage to hit my head off it somehow if it was longer, which I'm definitely okay with never doing (again). Ultimately we bought this to get rid of our gnat problem, which it did. Even if it wasn't in the expected way. So I'm competely happy with the purchase. And it does seem sticky enough that if they land on it they would get stuck to it. Also getting 8 of them for the price is worth it as well. ... show more

  • Works great, would be better if strips were wider Works great, would be better if strips were wider
Size: 1 Pack
The sticky traps are very effective and caught a bunch of flies and bugs. However, they’re difficult to hang due to curl not really straightening out. The strips would catch a lot more If they were wider.
