I took out an old tank based filtration system and replaced it with this WD-G2P600-W model. My old system fed a dedicated faucet as well as a refrigerator with water and ice dispenser. The old tank based system worked well but pressure would slowly drop once more than a cup of water was dispensed and it creates a lot of waste water to make pure filtered water. Plus replacing all the filters was a pain so I decided to get this unit because of the constant flow, ease of replacing filters and much less water waste. Installation was easy and water pressure to the old faucet was good but not to the refrigerator water dispenser. When dispensing water from the refrigerator, the water flow would be slow and pulsate. I checked the Waterdrop unit and the pump was turning on and off constantly even though I was holding the cup in the refrigerator dispenser requesting water. Turns out this system doesn't work well with the water filter in the refrigerator. I have a Samsung refrigerator so I purchased the Waterdrop Refrigerator Filter Bypass Accessory Kit for Samsung refrigerators...see image. This was the fix to the slow pulsating water flow problem. After replacing the regular filter in the fridge with the bypass filter, I now have a strong and constant flow from the refrigerator water dispenser. The icemaker in the fridge also makes ice normally, no issues. Another huge added benefit of the bypass filter is that I no longer have to buy water filters for the refrigerator! I did NOT have to replace the old faucet from my tank based system with the one that came with this unit. Tested with TDS meter and got 9ppm from immediate 1 ounce of water and 1 to 2 ppm after filling up a jug. Therefore as others have mentioned, you have to let the water run for a little bit in order to get the optimal filtration. The unit does make noise but I have it installed in the basement with water lines running up to the 1st floor kitchen. As such I don't ever hear the unit running and the water flow / pressure is stronger than the old tank based unit. ... show more

    • Amazing filtering capabilities:
You cant beat it, I have this running now for over a months and the quality of water is above that on a water bottle that is filtered by reverse osmosis, same ones at any store or jug fill stations. I measured 273PPM at my faucet, after the install the water was coming out at 4-10 PPM. This is huge for this little system, I do have a first separate filter rated at 0.5microns before it and then this system, I also added a separate charcoal inline filter after the system just to buffer one last time. Having the separate filters did not really change the PPM any further but I only did that just for the heck of it. The water does taste much better, the clarity of it is very noticeable when I compared samples next to each other. I used to fill the jugs every week, the price of gas for short trips is killing all of us here in Cali so I decided to simply try a different route. The system pays for itself in a month for sure if you buy water bottles all the time and the fact that it is ready on tap is is a huge convenience. I have pets and just knowing that they are drinking much better quality water is something I felt like I also had to do for them. If you are tired of the water buying or filling situation this is definitely the product for you. Overall the installation was very simple, the size of the unit is not as big and yes it does make noice when you use it but my refrigerator when is running is much louder.     • Water tastes great - So far so good
Just installed this. Pretty straight forward. I was concerned because we have an instant hot, a feed to the refrigerator and a previous old tank style reverse osmosis set up. Installation was fairly seamless. I did need to call their customer service once during installation. Beware: customer service is useless. Useless! If you need another part because something is missing or defective, just head to your local hardware store. WaterDrop takes 6-10 days to send out replacements. My TDS meter measured 550+ ppm before install. This unit brought our levels to 72 ppm. Nice! There is some sound, but no big deal. We will see if it works with our refrigerator without adding their accessory for refrigerators. Flow is decent from the faucet. I used our previously installed faucet that has hot and cold options. Water tastes great. Actually, better than it ever has. If you live in Phoenix, AZ, you know that the water here is awful - really awful. Reverse osmosis is an absolute must unless you’re living off of bottled water. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Installed yesterday after having it for a while. Installation of the actual unit was effortless. Only issue I had was having to run power to the unit as I didn’t have a plug under my sink. Would have been much easier but I also needed new plumbing fittings to use this with my existing plumbing. I added a video to hear the unit running. I can hear it when using but it’s not intrusive at all. I also put in a pic on how I installed the drain. Water tastes literally like nothing. So clean, it is tasteless. Hope this holds up for a long long time. ... show more
