The area of that floor of our home with all the rooms listed above, is approximately 1150 ft.². Size: slim and reminds me of a medium size rolling suitcase. Could easily fit behind a sofa if you wanted it out of sight, but honestly, it’s rather attractive. All things considered, and I have our stationed in the dining room because I don’t mind the look of it at all. No water leakage and built well. When the 5 month long hot season ends, I rolled it into the garage neat and tidy through winter spring. I considered one of those boxy-units that sits hanging from the window (think New York City apartments) but I wanted something more portable that could be out of sight out of mind when it wasn’t needed. This is a good overall AC, the only issue I had was a light odor from either manufacturing or some other problem possibly with the coils or mildew. Decided to keep the unit because it does reach pretty far to cool off an entire floor or enough that it is bearable. Unfortunately support is not so good for Whirlpool or this brand is under another name, so be aware of it. ... show more

I waited until I had the second unit before writing this, I would stay away from this brand. The frist unit I purchased arrived, box was damaged but the unit it self looked okay. Install wasn’t hard and didn’t take too long and when I first turned it on it blew really cold air and seemed like I got a great unit. That didn’t last too long though. I set the temp to 72 to see what it could do as the portable Honeywell unit this one was replacing could not get it down past 73. It got down to 72 and cut off and it seemed like it was working. I left the room it was installed in for a couple of hours and when I returned the room was back up to 85 degrees according to the units display. I sat and watched it for a bit as the fan was just running, not the compressor, after a while the compressor would kick on and start cooling but after about a minute of running the compressor would shut off and the unit would shake a little. Amazon support was understanding and they had UPS come by and pick up the old one and then drop a new one off a day later. The new one arrived today and I hooked it up and it is doing the same thing, unit has being picked up tomorrow and a refund issued. ... show more

I purposely bought this because of the heating ability. I have a half story of my home that is not climate controlled. This is perfect for keeping it cool enough in the summer and I'm very surprised at how well the heating option works. How long it lasts? who knows. Right now, I'm on about 10 months and no problems. I do wish the venting tubes were more flexible and easier to work with. ... show more

So i ordered this ac to cool down a warm room but the compressor would never kick in just blew room temperature air, I went to move it and I guess I jostled it and then heard a sizzling noise (like a loose connection) and it started working but then stopped again. To Amazons credit they set up a free pick up and will be delivering a new one in a few days so will see what happens. For the short amount of time it worked it was nice and strong so I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just a one off bad unit, if the new one works well I will update my rating, updating my review, 2nd unit arrived, it appeared to be opened but everything inside was still sealed, ac works as intended so raised my review from 2 to 4 ... show more
