I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I chose this forty piece set of wheat straw dinnerware. I had heard of wheat straw and that it was better for the environment and for serving since it’s BPA free, nontoxic and has no odor. I can attest to that as I picked up no plastic or chemical smell when I opened the box. I like that the dishes are microwave safe and won’t break down or warp in a dishwasher. The look of the set is fun and playful. I chose the multi color option because it reminded me of a melamine set my parents had when I was young. These are much lighter in weight and definitely more kid friendly in that the set doesn’t chip or crack and the plates have high sides to contain the contents. I love this especially for spaghetti and other messy foods. Also the bowls are the perfect shape for cereal. Also a must. Including tumblers was a nice touch. The tiny sauce bowls are something I wouldn’t have thought of, but make so much sense especially for youngsters who love to dip everything they touch into ketchup, marinara, ranch or some other kind of sauce, but they don’t like it touching the other food on their plate. This set would be perfect to use all summer long when serving on the deck or patio, at camp or in an RV where easy clean up and indestructibility is important in dinnerware. The price is right too.

This 40 piece wheat straw dinnerware set is Really great! It's durable. It is well made and sturdy. The colors are vibrant! And the variety of items makes this set very versatile! It's great for camping, for kid play, for casual dining, for outdoor dinging.....there are many possibilities! As for washing; I have washed some of the items in the dishwasher with No problems. For the set as a whole, I have hand washed and will probably stick with that method but they are a breeze to clean. I removed one star from this review *only* because the set showed up and was quite dusty on the inside. I was surprised to see this as the outer box had no damage and was sealed well. A few pieces looked as though there was a clear coating of some sort that had been scratched. Not through the wheat grass itself. Just this clear coating that looked like a sealant of some sort. These two issues were not the most pleasant but I must add that they were Easily cleaned and the clear coating and scratches were completely washed away. All in all, I do recommend this set. I think you will really enjoy it!

The wheat straw material gives these a more solid, substantial feel than standard plastic. They don’t come across as flimsy or cheap, and there’s none of that hollow or overly flexible sensation you sometimes get with lower-quality sets. Also, the fact that they are biodegradable and can significantly reduce concerns people might rightfully have about microplastics makes one reapproach plastic with a bit more confidence. At the same time, they remain lightweight enough for easy handling, which is especially useful for daily use, heavy-duty kid-handling, or outdoor settings. One of the biggest advantages here is convenience. You don’t have to worry about breakage if something gets dropped, and they’re quite microwave-friendly, which removes a common limitation found with metal dishware options. Cleaning has been straightforward so far; they rinse off easily and don’t seem to hold onto residue. Aesthetically, the speckled finish is a strong point. I wasn’t familiar with wheat straw, but after a little research, I’m glad I ordered this dish set. It’s a environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastic, and that’s a big plus for me as I try my best to avoid using plastics. Not always possible. The dishes are perfect for outdoor use or everyday family meals. The slightly higher plate sides are helpful with younger kids (keeps pasta and messy stuff where it belongs). We even had a spaghetti dinner on the blue plates, and everything washed up beautifully afterward with no staining. We chose the multicolor option since my family loves bright, cheerful colors, and it did not disappoint. The smaller bowls are just the right size for desserts or sides like coleslaw. At around $38 (at the time of this review) for a full set for eight, I think this is excellent value. Nice that the seller offers different color combinations, this could also make a thoughtful useful gift for someone setting up a new home. My teen will take this set to college since the dorms are suite-style with kitchens. Overall, I’m very happy and definitely recommend it, especially for families with young children or anyone looking for a durable, eco-friendly dish set.
