The brush itself was great, how Amazon decided to package it was not. Mine was tossed in a paper envelope which led to the box the brush was it getting smashed. It's softer bristles saved it but I'm shocked it didn't have more than some bent bristles! Amazon really needs to pay more attention to what they toss in envelopes!! As for the brush itself I think it's a disservice to call this a "men's" brush only! I got this one because I was replacing a similar brush I've had forever that also didn't have the pillow base the bristles are put into. With how flexible the bristles are the pillow base made the travel sized wet detangle brush unable to get though my thick curly hair. There was NO WAY the full size version would do better. Thick hair, curly hair, and hair you need a bit more strength... this is the brush to get. Bristles are flexible enough that when you do hit a bad tangle it's not yanking hard or breaking hairs, but strong enough to get through the rest and help break up tangles without tons of damage. Easy to hold and does not collect as much hair as other metal bristle brushes. I used to use a dense boars hair brush but glad I switched to these, much more styling ability.
