this works just fine. you will need to connect it with a ground wire if you want the outlet to be grounded (i.e. you need to connect it to black, white, and green, otherwise it won't be a grounded outlet). installation is easy and straightforward, all hardware is included. I like the fact that turning off the light has no effect on the outlet. I actually installed it in my back porch, and the wire feeding it is controlled from a switch on the inside. So I can shut down both the light AND the outlet from the inside if I wanted to. Or I can just control the light from the outside when the inside switch is on. Just as I wanted. I also installed one of those yellow bug lights in it to reduce attracting bugs. The quality is good, as you would expect from Westinghouse. The housing and brackets are sturdy. The outlet is also sturdy, when you plug something in it, it doesn't give you any sense of flimsiness. This is quite a nice light for a very reasonable price. ... show more

The pull cord switch is a cheap one. But i put mine on its own wall switch. Looks good and good quality other then that switch. Works great for inside my closet.. Would definitely buy again

The fixture looks good and works fine so it isn't the companies fault. When looking at it I thought it would be like a ceiling fan where you could have the option of using the pull chain or the wall switch. Well not the case.
