The fridge gets nice and cold, looks like my grandparent's fridge growing up in the '60s and '70s, and is very strategically designed for maximum storage. The light is bright. The freezer is actually twice the size of the tiny integrated freezer box in the '40s fridge I grew up with. I love the glass shelves. The door is def not set up for gallon jugs, as the listing states. However, it easily holds a rectangular 2-quart bottle, and I don't need room for more than that. The unit is quiet, more than sturdy enough for my Mom Cave, and the style is pretty classy. It's even my grandma's fave color. But the handles are fairly flimsy and I see them breaking before the unit goes out. I would have liked door storage for the freezer. Also, although ice packs freeze fast, I haven't tried the ultimate test of ice cream, which tends to be the final frontier for mini fridges. So we will see about that. This product is really cute, I absolutely love it! Its a great compact size but also seems very roomy for the fridge and freezer. It came assembled except for the handles that you just had to pop in and came in great condition. I've never had a mini fridge with as much room as this one as the door has multiple shelves and spaces for bottles as well as the 2 main fridge shelves and drawer makes it easy to fit everything I need. Not to mention the freezer space is the largest freezer space I've had for a mini fridge as it usually only fits 1 or 2 things but this can fit much more. Works great for a home office, but I'll definitely be looking into getting one of these for my nephew's upcoming college departure! ... show more

I loved this when I first purchased it. But the temperature has recently become unreliable. I have chronic migraines, so I purchased this to keep my migraine ice packs close by because trying to move with a horrible migraine is simply not possible. I only needed a freezer, but the cost of this little full fridge was about $20 more than a single freezer. The reviews were good, so I decided to spend the extra and purchase this model. At first, it worked great! Then, I began having problems with ice buildup in the freezer. I had back surgery and wasn't home for several months. I left it plugged in, but there was nothing inside it. When I came back, the freezer had a lot of ice buildup, so I defrosted it. Next, it caused really bad (yucky) stuff frozen in/onto my migraine packs. (They don't make these anymore; something similar, but not the same. So, if I lose these to a bad freezer, then I'm truly screwed.) A couple weeks ago, when I first wrote this review, there is no ice on the freezer walls, and the migraine packs were barely cold. Since then, ice cream melts in it! This is totally ridiculous! You can't control the temperature in the freezer because they say it's self controlled, but it doesn't work! This is useless for what I need it for! I've tried to get help, but all I was ever told was to use the self-help guides. When you click "No", it doesn't help, it tells you to try another option. Absolutely no help! Do I recommend it? The fridge works very well as far as keeping things cold. I bought this one because although the main description says manual defrost, the actual description said auto defrost and so did the item details. Be aware, it is a manual defrost. Usually the main short description has the errors and the complete item description is correct, so i didn't worry about it. I may have ordered a cheaper model had I known. The fridge came in perfect condition. The handles were so hard to put on and have them actually snap in place that my husband thought he was going to break them. He did get them in, one made the click as it seated the other did not but it is seated. I use it at work in my office. I get lots of compliments from coworkers as they love the color and retro look. I would only buy again if they lowered the price and fixed the description. ... show more

I absolutely love my new West Bend mini fridge with freezer! There were a few that cost less but didn't look nearly as cool so the small bit of extra money was very much worth it since I'll be looking at this for a very long time. The one thing I knew I wanted in a new fridge was that it should have a separate freezer and I'm so happy that I did just that. The freezer can hold 12 small frozen meals side by side with some room left over in the front of those items for a few more smaller items. The bottom part of the appliance is roomy and functional as well. It took only minutes for it to get cold enough to use although the instructions state differently. The handles on the front of the doors are really just decorative as they don't actually move in any way. They are just for show really but not a critical part of the door function. I chose black and it looks awesome but better than that I feel sure that I made the right choice in terms of long term wear and tear. It took me a few days to make my decision but I now know that I made and excellent choice! ... show more

Got it on time, opened it up and checked it out, it is nice color red, it has a little dent on the right side toward the back but it can't be seen unless you look for it ( not the sellers fault or the product itself, Some Carrier drivers aren't careful with boxes and packages I have seen). Plugged it in first thing and it works really good. The freezer was a little below 0 so it can freeze foods and the fridge was 37 degrees great for milk and meat too. Hopefully it will stay that way for quite awhile. I would buy again. ... show more
