We bought two of these and love them. High quality materials; very well built, assembled in minutes; above normal decoratively. The only reason for four stars is two knocks: Most torch lamps have the ability to store excess cord under the base of the lamp; this does not. The supplied light bulb is slightly brighter than a night light bulb; it should come with a standard 60 watt equivalent LED soft white bulb and let the user decide to go up or down as desired. ... show more

We wanted an uplight in our movie room to spotlight a couple of our vintage inspired movie posters. As soon as I saw this, I had to have it. This photo is taken in daylight, so you can imagine how romantic it will be at night. All components are top notch, with a 1920s inspired metal base to match the gorgeous shade.     • Huge disappointment: Way TOO dim & no reply from seller
I am so so so disappointed. This was $178!!!! and does not serve as an actual light. I've written and asked the seller if I can purchase another bulb to replace the one that came with the lamp. No one replied to my question. It would go ok in a bedroom for mood lighting but it should say that in the description because it is not bright enough to actually work as a "real" lamp. The thing is, once you get it out of the packaging and get it all set up, you really don't want to repackage it. I'll just take the whole thing in and its box and have the fed ex people repackage it. Does the seller want to send me a better bulb now???? or risk the lamp to be damaged on the return? It is beautiful but what good is that if it is not functional?? ... show more

    • Well made, sturdy lamps
Nice product! Why do you place the foot switch (on/off) in the middle of the lamp cord. The cord is nice and long, the switch ends up under the couch (in my case ) it would seem more logical to place the switch nearer the lamp.
