Description

WEN CT1065 10-Amp 6.5-Inch Plunge Cut Sidewinder Circular Track Saw Remember when your saw stayed on the right track? Keep your cuts on the straight and narrow with the WEN 10-Amp Sidewinder Plunge Cut Track Saw. The WEN Track Saw provides users the same results as a table or panel saw in a compact and portable package. Simply lay the track (not included – model CT9502) along the desired surface for a clean and smooth cut. The WEN Track Saw is the perfect companion for ripping plywood, trimming doors, building furniture, and any other application needing long, precise cuts. Our powerful 10-amp motor rotates the 6-1/2 inch blade up to 5500 times per minute, letting you power through even the hardest of woods. Bevel the saw 45 degrees to the left to create angled cuts in boards up to 1-5/8 inches thick. Set the depth gauge anywhere from 0 to 2-1/3 inches to control how deep the saw plunges. The 12 x 6-5/8 inch base features precision grooves that let the saw glide smoothly along the track. However, the saw can also exist on its own as a plunge saw, relying on its flat base for maximum stability and precision. Easily switch between three different blade settings: one for scoring cuts that go 1/8-inch deep, one for full plunge cuts, and one to simplify blade changes. The non- slip base cams reduce pinching and minimizes kickback. The back-mounted dust port allows for attachment to your favorite dust collection system to control sawdust and limit cleanup. Simply attach your dust collection device of choice and start sawing. Compatible with the WEN CT9502 100-Inch Track and the WEN CT992F Track Saw Clamps. And, because it’s a WEN product, your WEN 10-Amp Plunge Cut Circular Track Saw comes backed by a two-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians, and a friendly customer helpline, all to make sure you remember WEN. WEN CT9502 100-Inch Track Saw Track Guide Rail and Adapters Remember when you could keep your saw on the straight and narrow? The WEN 100-Inch Track Saw Track provides the perfect support for your WEN CT1065 Track Saw. Simply line the track along the preferred cut and get to slicing. This set features two 50-inch tracks, two adapter pieces, and a sawdust-controlling rubber lip to minimize clean-up. Securely clamp the guide rail to your preferred work piece with the WEN CT992F Track Saw Clamps (sold separately) to make straight and precise cuts over 8 feet in length. • How I got it working perfect, best saw for the price!
Style: Track Saw + Clamps
I have used this saw and used this saw and it comes at your like a spider monkey. It just keeps going and going. The original Wen blade even took to a nice sharpening which I was pleasantly surprised with. First off, remember, a few of the parts are plastic so be kind of careful. I don't baby mine at all, but I don't throw it all over the place either. The accuracy of cuts is right on for what I need. I am able to make precision rip and cross-cuts on all kinds of wood without an issue. There is a TINY bit of movement in the parts (less than 1/64th of an inch but more than 1/128th) but this is wood, not metal, you should never be making a cut that needs that much precision with this kind of saw, regardless of brand. Here are my suggestions to get this thing to work as good as any saw I've ever owned: 1. Go slow, if you push too hard it can bog down, but slow and steady and the cut is perfect every time. 2. Use the right blade. This goes without saying, but using a general purpose blade to rip laminate flooring is just stupid and no fault of the saw. I use a fine tooth blade with a thin kerf and a lot of teeth and I get absolutely precision cuts with thing. 3. Keep the saw spinning fast when doing a plunge cut to avoid tear-out, meaning once again, go slow. Works perfectly fine if you aren't expecting the power of a 20 amp big table saw. All the rules to cutting wood apply. Use masking tape where needed. Use the right blade. Hold the wood tight, so on and so forth and you'll find this thing works perfect. The only drawback you'll find is you don't have the power to cut super fast, but you'll have to spend 4 times the amount to get a saw that can really go quick, so deal with it and enjoy the extra money in your pocket. I hope this helped! ... show more

  • good value for the occasional user
Style: Track Saw + Rail and Adapters
I use this to break down sheet goods, and for that it works well. This is the only track saw I've ever used. All the knobs and adjustment work but are not precise and look like they might break easily. I didn't want to spend a fortune and this saw is perfectly adequate for my needs. My one dislike is anti-kickback mechanism. It is a soft disk that rubs against the track, making it more difficult than it should to insert the saw into the track and to push. ... show more

  • First Track Saw I ever owned.. NOT disappointed
Style: Track Saw + Rail and Adapters
So, I've done woodworking off and on for over 25 years. Never owned a tack saw, I was never interested in one. I watched dozens of videos, watched dozes of reviews. Many knock the WEN saw claiming "Festool is far superior". Well it may be, or it may just be the name your in love with. I shop for many more reasons then just a name. 20 plus years ago, you had dozens of companies all making their own brand of power tools. THAT was when you could really shop for quality. Today, if you really look at who makes those tools, you'll notice MOST of them all come from one or two factories with very few exceptions. You have some of the top name tools, all owned by ONE company, all made in ONE factory in China. So when you shop for a tool, think of the things YOU want to do with it, and what special bells and whistles you can do with out, then check your bank account. That said. This WEN saw does the job I need it to do, and that's cut sheet goods. Get a GOOD blade! Put some duct tape over the arbor hole, and cut away! The clamps come in handy so get those too. When I cut, I stack 2, 1 inch sheets of insulation board on a work table or floor. That's what I put my sheet goods on, then set up your tracks, measure what you need, and you cut. This saw does the job. Take your time, double check your measurements. If you cut on a table/workbench, use the clamps. I use a single track to cut smaller sheets too prior to the table saw cuts. Hook a dust collection system to it like Rocker's Dust Right FlexiPort attachments. Hardly ANY sawdust. Cuts clean with a GOOD BLADE. Get that blade BEFORE you make the trim cut on the edging of the tracks! ... show more

  • Excellent DIY grade track saw for the money
Style: Track Saw + Rail and Adapters
So far I believe it’s a great saw for the money, personally I’ve never used a major brand track saw before I purchased the Wen, it is easy to use, if you have common sense with tools, you probably won’t really need the directions much, even if you have never used one before, it seems to be well made, but it has a lot of plastic parts, so it probably wouldn’t hold up for professional use, but for my wood shop in my basement it will last me for years. Some people have mentioned that the tracks don’t line up with each other very well, the only problem that I found was that the tracks had burs on the ends that caused the saw to hang up and not transition to the other half of the track, this problem was easily fixed with the file on my leatherman, once the burs were gone, the saw slides smoothly along the entire length. A bit of advice for preparing the track for first use, so that you don’t make the same dumb mistake that I did, there is no directions with the tracks, and my common sense was late as it sometimes is lol, you will want to attach both halves to make the 100” track, get your saw completely on the track, DO NOT start or run the saw off the ends of the track or you will most likely foul the last 1” or so of the edge guide. Instead with the full track clamped down, start your plunge cut near the end or anywhere you want really, as long as it is fully on the track and run to near the other end, then take the track apart, remove the connectors and switch the track around to where the uncut part of the edge guide is in the middle and finish the cut, takes a little longer but you will have a straight edge by doing this, I will have to get a replacement edge guide to fix my mistake ... show more
