  • Quality control of machining is meh.
Style: Lathe Chuck
Like everyone says it had burrs of metal, that need to be cleaned out before use. It doesn't operate smoothly, but for the money it is worth it. The size of this chuck is excellent and NOVA should take some notes on what makes this chuck and its jaws better than their g3 chuck. You can use this on a 3" tenon, which you can't with a NOVA. I own a g3 also, I bought this to fill the size gap a nova can't get ahold of and attaching this to a 1" 8tpi mt2 live center I have. It allows me to securely get ahold of a rough oak log blank. ... show more

  • Just as described.
Style: Lathe Chuck
I just started using a wood lathe and this chuck worked perfectly. Very easy to use.

  • Works but isn’t true
Style: Lathe Chuck
This chuck works and holds the work firmly but it isn’t assembled true. There is a very slight wobble which makes it impossible to remove work and replace it to continue working on it. Every time you put it back on it will be slightly different. It’s disappointing but I don’t think replacing would make it any better. ... show more

  • Good product
Style: Lathe Chuck
Good product solidly built very good for the cost works like a charm the only thing that I would make different about this piece is if the Jaws actually were open just a little bit wider and potentially close a little smaller but overall I really like it and I've put it to very good use so far

  • Awesome for a wood lathe!
Style: Lathe Chuck
It is very accurate as long as the wood is square on the mounting end! Guess my chop saw needs to be adjusted back to square. I'm loving the chuck for my wood lathe, I make a lot of smaller things on the lathe! Just need to buy some more jaws to hold smaller diameter items.

  • Not too shabby, if you pay attention
Style: Lathe Chuck
Repeatability isn't this vise's strong suit. If you take your work out for some reason and put it back, you have to spare a thought towards making sure it is running true again. Not a complete deal breaker. Just something to be aware of. Beyond that, I love it.
