  • Just excellent for the price
Style: 4-Inch (Discontinued)
Pros: Cheap, a big old chunk of cast iron for the money, grips tightly, turns smoothly, big anvil, no casting flaws I could find. Cons: no pipe jaws, objectively not that large a vice (but exactly as big as they said it was), anvil is the same soft cast iron as the rest of it, had an excessive amount of viscous grease in the screws (like, at least three tablespoons of the stuff). Overall, I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Great option for the home user
Style: 4-Inch (Discontinued)
I'm not a bench vise expert, nor do I use one daily. I needed this from some home projects but I don't use it often enough to warrant buying a more expensive option. I was pleasantly surprised when this arrived. It's stout and well built. Doesn't feel like cheap metal that might crack under normal use. So far it does everything I need it to and I'm happy with the purchase. Maybe if you're a tool junky or use one daily it might not be up to snuff but if that's the case you probably shouldn't be buying a vise this inexpensive anyway. If you're going to use this occasionally but need it to work when you do, I think it's a great option. ... show more

  • Solid Vise - Literally Double The Weight of Comparable Vise's in the Same Price/Category
Style: 4-Inch (Discontinued)
I purchased this mostly because of one popular reviewers remarks in his personal review of this very same vise in regards to this particular Vise's weight which is roughly 17 pounds/7.71 kg. I haven't yet to torque the vise down with all of my strength which is quite a bit. I'm no strongman nor am I even remotely close to the strength of those guys you see in the World's Strongest Man Competition though I have torqued down the jaws of this here Vise quite a bit in my roughly three months of having had and used this vise. So far it has been reliable to say the least. As far as opening and closing the jaws is rather smooth with no sort of grinding or metal on metal feel to it. It does have some sharp slash rough edges go it that will definitely need some sanding or grinding down as to make it most safe for it's use in your shop, office, or whichever space you've got that is available. After I sanded, filed, and even dremeling the rough edges I just say that it looks terrific. After having done that I feel most safe when our little boys play with Daddy's vise lols cause it was rather sharp at it's unfinished edges. So all in all is this vise worth purchasing? I'd give it two thumbs and maybe a pinkie toe or two lols. No seriously this is a really great vice at an affordable price. As far as extra heavy industrial use I can not speak to though for most normal case use I'd say yeppers go and get it. Also it should be noted that YOU should check the product weight in the description when looking at things to purchase most especially Vise's cause like I said before this vise is quite literally double the weight of other Vise's in this price and category. The weight alone speaks volumes. I know I'm glad I got this as I've used it nearly everyday since the day it arrived!!! ... show more

  • 4" wide, ~6" throat, 130* rotation
Style: 4-Inch Bench Vise
This is a very nice and very well built 4" wide vice. I really like the ~6" throat capacity. The only draw-back is the fact that it doesn't rotate 360* like my old vice. It pivots 130*. Realistically you only need 90*, and that is ONLY if you mount it on a corner, but it was nice to be able to rotate my old one 360* on those rare occasions where I needed (or wanted) to do that. Also like the larger "anvil" pad. Bottom line is that this is a great vice, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it. Time will tell about longevity. Happy customer. ... show more

  • Great vise (4 inch)
Style: 4-Inch (Discontinued)
I'm actually surprised that you can get a solid, heavy vise like this for the price. And it is HEAVY. Large anvil section. Machining appears precise, smooth operation, jaws mate perfectly. I compared several vises before selecting this one, and I'm glad I did. I should add that I am a "home user", not using in a professional setting. But still, this hunk of iron is a beast. ... show more

  • Quality is great!
Style: 4-Inch (Discontinued)
Super surprised at the quality. I was expecting something much less for the price I paid. I would recommend this vise to anyone looking for a quality vise at an affordable cost. Jaws fit together perfectly. No sloppiness anywhere. Large anvil, lubed, rustproof coating. Double locking. Just don't get any better. A pipe vise would have been a nice extra, but it's something I rarely need. Kudos to the Wen Co. ... show more

  • What not to like?
Style: 4-Inch (Discontinued)
I did a lot of searches then I went to Harbor freight. I did not like the fit and finish of any that they had. I found this one on Amazon and it sounded a little too good to be true. Wrong! it is heavy duty for a vise this size and the fit and finish is impeccable. The price is amazing.
