Winch or Manual Lift (15-0030) is required. KFI Products ATV-SCHS Cables , Black This Split Cable Hook Stopper Is For The Atv And Utv Winch. It Weighs 4 Oz. It Is 2 5/8 Inches Wide And 1 3/4 Inches Thick. This Kfi Split Cable Hook Stopper Will Fit Between The Two Outside Rollers On An Atv Or Utv Winch Fairlead. It Also Works Great With The Synthetic Rope And Or The Slot Fairlead. Reasons To Purchase A Split Cable Hook Stopper : Eliminates Wear And Tear On Your Rollers From The Hook. Eliminates Hook Clatter From Going Down The Trail. Protects The Winch Motor And Gears From Pulling The Cable In To Far And Bottoming Out On The Rollers. Place The Cable Or Rope Between The Two Halves. Insert The Four Bolts And Tighten. 4) Re-Attach Hook To Cable End. 5) To Stow Hook, Engage Clutch And Retract Cable Onto Winch Spool Until Hook Is Snug Against The Hook Stopper And Fairlead. 6) Position Hook Stopper At Approx. 3/4 Of The Total Line Distance Towards Hook While Using You Winch.

Excellent product. High quality. Have used it a dozen times already. Do not believe the install time or the “universal fit.” I had two family members who are professional mechanics take 2.5 hours to assemble and install. The “U” brackets that bolt it to the wheeler frame are definitely not universal. We had to cut away material and fab the bolts into a different shape to install. The media could not be loaded. This snow plow was surprisingly heavy. I could barely move the box by myself when it arrived. I’m very impressed with the quality and sturdiness of it so far. A few notes on installation: Assembly and Install: I mounted this snow plow onto a 2021 Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS. Assembly was not quick, it took about 2-3 hours for the plow assembly and another 2 hours to get it installed on the ATV. Plan for 4-5 hours. This unit can be assembled as either 48” or 60” wide. I chose the 48” width assembly as that’s about the width of the vehicle, anything wider is going to tear up landscaping on both sides of the sidewalk. The 48” width seems pretty manageable. The instructions aren’t great on how to mount the mount plate to the bottom of the ATV. Pictures are poor quality, so you just need to stare at it and figure it out. There are different configurations you can use. For the 21 Sportsman 570 installation, I mounted to the frame with three hex bolts and one U-bolt. I had to drill one new hole in the frame cross support to ensure a good, tight installation. Once getting the base plate mounted on the ATV, then attaching and detaching the plow from the vehicle is a matter of pulling 2 cotter pins and unhooking your winch. A winch works great to raise and lower the plow. I wouldn’t recommend using this unit if you don’t have a winch, there will be nothing to support it. One big watch out (not just with this plow( but all ATV plows) - watch your speed. You can bend the plow arms and mount up if you try to go too fast or push too much snow. ... show more

I’m an ex mechanic. Even with air tools to speed the process it took two of us over two hours to just assemble the plow. It works well though and it goes on and off very quickly.
