I bought this angle grinder for some home improvement projects. I needed something that could handle cutting and grinding various metals without breaking the bank, and this one seemed to fit the bill. It's been working well so far; it can definitely cut through metal like a hot knife through butter. The motor is pretty powerful too, which makes it easy to use even on tougher materials. I managed to modify my old metal table with ease using this grinder (though I did burn a hole in my pants leg during the process - gotta watch out for those sparks!). Overall, I'd say it's a good tool for anyone who needs something reliable and affordable for DIY projects or even professional use. This angle grinder comes with three grinding wheels and a carrying case, which is nice. The reversible handle is useful too; sometimes you need to change the way you're holding it depending on what you're working on. It's also fairly lightweight compared to some other grinders I've used, so that's a plus. I don't have much else to say about it really.     • Great starter angle grinder for novices

I decided to try to get into metalworking and doing random DIY stuff around the garage and picked up this angle grinder since it had a lot of good reviews and was cheap enough. The quality is very decent for a $22 tool, and it works great! it's easy to get the switch to lock on the on position, but prefer to hold down the switch when I use it (for safety). It has plenty of power and can cut metal fairly quickly. However, the grinding disc that was provided; is just not good. It came with a few scratches and a couple of nicks in the abrasive part. Whenever I try to grind, it cuts into the side of the wheel and I can see it starting to seriously wear down on the side. That said, if you purchase a quality grinding disc or cutting disc, it should be more than powerful for a beginner, but don't exactly expect it to last years or decades (like Dewalt or Makita). If you only need an angle grinder once in a while or for an odd job here or there, this is the best budget tool to buy without going too over the top (like a normal dude won't need a $200 Milwaukee). So, overall, I give it five stars and i recommend it to others :) ... show more

I was borrowing my fathers Dewalt angle grinder and decided i should buy my own grinder. I came across this WEN 944 7-amp angle grinder for only $25 which I think is a good deal. This angle grinder works great. I used it to make a rolling cart out of scrap 1/8 steel and it cuts thru it no problem. I used the included grinding disc to grind off heavy rust and it worked great also. I really like the size and weight, I can use it one handed easily where with the Dewalt it was heavy and needed both hands to control it. Reason I only give it 4 stars: - The guard doesnt spin all the way around. With the Dewalt angle grinder I am able to spin the guard and have it in any position, this WEN guard only rotates 3/4 of the way in each direction so sometimes I cant hold the grinder at the angle i want to. - The on/off switch stays on, it isnt the type you have to hold down to have it on. The first time I had plugged the grinder in the switch was already in the on position and scared me, jumped out of my hand since i was not expecting it to turn on. Be sure to always make sure the switch is OFF before plugging it in. This was the main reason I only gave 4 stars. As far as functioning to cut and grind I give it 5 stars. ... show more

These grinders are so inexpensive, I have one for each application; wire brush, grind, cutoff, diamonds cutoff, and chainsaw. This one is my favorite of the different brands I have.

The media could not be loaded. It'll grind through nearly anything. Get the right discs for the job. Simple to install a disc. Easy to operate. Handle goes on both sides for preference. Comes with a case and everything needed to get started. Strong. I ripped through a lot of material with it right out of the box and it felt solid. Edit: Update. Spent 1 hour grinding oak with it and its smoking, super hot, and dead. Unsafe. Do not bother with this. ... show more
