I was hoping it was lighter but it's fairly good. This tool is great if you are making cuts into existing plywood walls and floor. Don't recommend for normal freehand plywood but still usable if you don't want multiple tools. FYI there's a button on the trigger that kind of locks power on so it's easier to handle/use, do not abuse it. ... show more

Awesome product, helped me remove my drywall without damaging anything behind it. Suction works great (don't pull the saw backwards or it won't suck anything up). 1 star removed because the power button is difficult to safely use in unison with the safety. This tool was reviewed by the you-tuber Project Farm as one of 12 best tools of the year, so I bought it. I have an ancient circular saw, and a low-end table saw, but for the small, occasional needs I have to cut a board I don't bother breaking these out and end up using a hand saw. This Wen tool fit my needs perfectly. It's solidly built, and I made some perfect cuts very easily. It is on the heavy side. The instructions were very well written.     • Dangerous! ON/OFF switch sticks in ON position.

I'll begin by pointing out that a couple of WEN tools I own have worked amazingly well. The most obvious negative about this saw is that (on the one I got) the trigger sticks in the ON position. You have to pull the saw out of the cut, turn it upside down, and hold it with one hand while you use the thumb of the other to push the trigger back to the OFF position. The shape of the saw makes it awkward to plunge the saw down into the cut. Also, you can't tell that the alignment laser is on unless it's shining on the workpiece. Because of the hassle of finishing a cut and getting the blade turned off I forget and leave the light on between cuts, and when I put the saw away. An indicator light that shows on top of the saw would make it obvious that the light is on. The laser uses expensive button batteries - why not use a AAA battery instead so you could use a rechargeable one. ... show more

Purchased for as you go trimming for luxury vinyl flooring and for the dust connection. It was difficult to cut a straight line with or without the guide and the dust collector hose has two bends that don’t straighten out easily due to the stiffness of the material and the way it is wrapped in case. It did help reduce the up/downs on floor installs but detail cuts that are not hidden by baseboards needed to be cut with different saw. ... show more

WEN makes some of the best stuff out there. We are restoring our new home ( built in 1918 ) and it is 5,107 square feet. The exterior is all hardwood and had been let go for sometime. Interior wood, including floors, is all oak, with the interior walls and ceilings being lathe and plaster. Needless to say.... Lots of sanding applications to be had. When we bought new sanders, WEN came to mind from previous experiences. When I needed a plunge saw for the lower bathroom project, again WEN came to mind. This little sucker has done it's job and continues to have a ton of work in it's future. You won't go wrong with WEN. ... show more
