This is nothing more than thin 'screen' material being used (or advertised for use) as shade. While it might lessen sun rays a bit from coming into an area, it only decreases the sun by a small amount. Likewise not really 'shade' but instead let's say filtered (for lack of a better description). By comparison we have a separate front awning shade made by Alleko (purchased thru Amazon) that we are very happy with. The mesh material of that product works very well in providing shade while still allowing you to see through the mesh. Unfortunately in a quick search I don't see that they offer the product cut for the 'canopy side' that we need. Will continue that search. ... show more

Does not block sun. More like window screen. Definitely not 90% sun block. Had to hang another shade cloth over it to get any shade relief. Don’t buy this cheap Chinese garbage.
