I bought this for my trip to Hawaii. The blanket was such a life saver! Lightweight, durable, and comfortable. It has a small zippered pouch under the blanket that you could store things in. Though this product is neither sand-free, nor waterproof as advertised, it’s still a great beach blanket. The tight nylon weave means sand sits on top but easily shakes off. Water beads up on it initially, but will eventually soak in (like, if you’re sitting on it in a wet swimsuit). However, it more than comfortably fits all my family’s beach gear and all five of us. It folds up easily and compactly and is very lightweight. The stakes are pretty useless, at least in sand (maybe not on grass turf), but we easily weighed it down with sand in the corners and beach bags. Worked great on our two-week Oahu adventure! Washes easily and dried quickly (air-dried because I wasn’t sure if it could safely go in a dryer). Would recommend. ... show more

This beach blanket cannot be more perfect. I was looking for 4 main things in a beach blanket and this one has it all!! First, it rolls up into a small bag for easy transport which is so important when you have a million other things to lug onto the beach - the last thing you need is a bulky cumbersome beach blanket. Second, it's HUGE so you can fit a pop up tent, beach chairs, and a handful of people on it with room to spare. Third, the pockets that you can fill with sand to keep the blanket from blowing away are extremely effective and quick and easy to set up. Probably THE MOST annoying thing about other beach blankets is no way to anchor them down except to use whatever else you've lugged onto the beach to hold down the 4 corners, but 90% of the time it doesn't work for one reason or another. So, the 6 sand pockets are awesome! Fourth, it is SO EASY to get sand off of it. It doesn't matter if you got wet sand or dry sand on it, all you do is give it a little shake and it comes off, making for a super easy clean up and pack up at the end of a long beach day. I've tried other beach blankets that claimed to be sand free that were not at all, like those stiff, weaved straw looking mats. They just made a huge mess. And they were scratchy, not comfortable at all, while this beach blanket is soft and comfortable. As a bonus, the free waterproof cell phone protector was a huge selling point for me because I wanted one of those as well. So by buying this blanket, I killed two birds with one stone. The media could not be loaded. I bought this beach blanket because our kids and puppy make a sandy mess walking on the beach towels. First of all, I love this pink/purple combination, it makes it easy to spot from the water after you’ve floated away from your spot. It all squished into this tiny pouch that is attached so you’ll never lose it. It weighs very little. Upon opening at the beach, it was easy to tack it down with the included spikes. I was surprised at how BIG this blanket is. It’s the biggest I’ve ever used. It’s a parachute like material. Doesn’t get hot in the sun. Totally water resistant. The dog brought sandy wet paws on it and shook off. All of the water and sand puddles on top of the blanket. You can brush it off or give the blanket a snap at the corner and let the wind blow it off. When it was time to go, pick up the spikes, give it a shake and stuff it into the bag. No folding. Just stuff it in there. Took like 20 seconds. I love this beach blanket. No more sand in my washing machine and all over the laundry room floor. Buy this! ... show more

so far, so good. I'll update after some abuse. But the quality is as good as my tents and rainflies. In fact, using it as a rain fly is one of the reasons I got it since all my old rain flies are smaller from when I solo hiked. We're going to the beach, so I wanted something for the ground, but also as a rain or sun shelter, I love the additional nylon loops so I don't have to fill the pockets and tie them off before lashing to trees, between my van's roofrack and our collapsible canopy or whatever. If it works as well as I think, I'll buy another for ground and ceiling. And it's cheaper than the products labeled as a rain fly or nylon tarp. The stuff sack has a legit buckle and nylon tape. I like that the stuff sack is integrated so my wife and kids won't lose it. They lose everything. "daddy, can i use your knife?" ... "sure" ... "I don't want your cheap knife. I want to use your good knife" ... "nope" ... UPDATE ONE We've abused it. My kids spilled food on it. Used it at the beach. used it as an entry way into our camping tent... we got to the campsite late, I was in a hurry, I forgot to clear the land, so there were lots of twigs and branches under it the entire time. Cleans up well, no rips or damage yet. I haven't used it as a rain fly yet, but the ground at the campsite was wet and it got wet through. I think the only way it would work for as a rain fly is if it's angled enough to run off so it doesn't soak through. It'll work as a sun-fly. I see it's currently at $30. We bought at $23, which is what my review is based on. The more expensive it gets, the less valuable it becomes as there are plenty of options in the $30-range. ... show more
