When I have afternoon sun and it's hot out, I cant keep my RV cool. The sun shade helps if the afternoon/evening sun is coming from that side. I also don't think it's worth the time/effort to install for a 1-2 day trip. If you are staying in a place with VERY hard ground, the tie down process is difficult. consider filling up milk/water jug that has a handle on it, for your tie down. The thickness of the material is probably in the sweet spot. -Thick enough to block much of the sun, but not so thick that the wind has complete control of it. You can also see through it.

If you like to travel to water places or throughout the summer, then you will find this shade very handy. It’s lovely to be able to block out a little heat and create a little shade when it’s blistering hot, especially if you are camping somewhere without hookups. It’s like an on the go lanai

My wife has a small poultry operation and we use them for shade awnings. They are so much better than the purpose built shade cloths that fall apart. This cloth really holds up well and keeps the sun of the birds.
