I bought this helmet 3 weeks ago. I'm an occasional welder with a very good Miller 211. I've been using a cheap Harbor Freight auto-dim helmet for the last 10 years. Kind of like my previous flip helmet, I had a hard time seeing what I was trying to weld. I had the opportunity to put it to the test today. I could actually see what I was trying to weld. I was welding 1/8" steel and had no problem seeing where I was running the bead and putting it in a straight line. I was outside, so I didn't need the light. If I'm welding in the basement, I have a clamp light that I would usually use clamped to a joist above. I'd bet that the next time I have an indoor job, I won't need the clamp light. I'll update this review if I have a problem with it, but I doubt that I will. Another thing that I like is that I wasn't limited to shades 9-13. With this helmet, you have 5-13. Since I've had such a hard time seeing on 9, I tried it on 8 and it was perfect. I'm only giving this 4 stars because of the lack of instructions for assembling the head gear to the helmet. It was only my high mechanical aptitude that allowed me to assemble it correctly. It was less than $40 after coupon and discount. That's less than the cheap Harbor Freight auto-darkening helmet that I've been using for the last 10 years. This one works. If you're a hobby/occasional welder like me, this is the one. If you're a professional, you can probably find something better. That would be something that works as good as this and also has better headgear.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He loves it! He says the wider window is so much easier to weld with because you can actually see what you are doing! He also loves the little lights that shine on what you are welding. It looks just like the picture- graphic is great on the side!

This is a nice welding helmet. Adjustable and came with the extra lenses and a load of batteries for it. Has a light that clips in at the top, and that’s a plus. You can see the work better. I highly recommend this.
